Review: Absolutely love it - Update 6/2019: Still have them, still going strong. Copying some resourceful reviewers on here, I've removed all the sand, let them fill with pool water, slid a 1.5" diameter PVC pipe under the main stairs between 2 holes in the sides (my unit is the older one before the holes were filled in), hung 2 3-gallon buckets (with lids of course) full of sand from it and attached the plastic arms to the deck. They are firmly in place. We did not hang the buckets of sand until after the stairs were in the pool as this made it easier to get them into the pool & jostle around to fill with water. Make sure you let them fill with water - air is your nemesis here! For end of season removal, just remove the buckets of sand, drain as much water as possible, have one average person in the pool and one on the deck and work together to lift them out. How do I know? Tried it. 2 of us were able to easily remove them by removing the buckets of sand, lifting and tilting them (while we were both in the pool) to let some water drain until we felt they were light enough. Then one of us got out of the pool, the person in the pool lifts & tilts the stairs while the person on the deck steadies and lifts. This is much, much easier than when they were filled with sand - obviously. Will post photos when I remove them from the pool this year, but look through the reviews, there are photos from others showing this method. I highly recommend these stairs still. Update: Removing these from the pool is definitely a 2-3 person job. I was able to do it with myself plus one, but it was not easy. Consider that in planning at closing time. Product idea: some sort of folding lift system to assist in getting these out, I may try to devise something. Still highly recommend these, we have gotten lots of positive remarks from people who have seen and used them in our pool. We have been using this for just about a full season now. Absolutely love it, much, much better than a plain old ladder. Buying it here was by far the best price. Not hard to put together, pouring the sand in was a bit tedious but after putting it into the pool I can see why so much is needed. Its still fairly buoyant even with all that wet sand. Use of the plastic arms to attach it to the deck (as per the directions) made it quite sturdy and not easily movable. Others have modified this to hold sandbags or cinder blocks instead of filling it with sand, I think I'll find out why when I attempt to haul these suckers out of the pool for winter. I'll be tackling that task within the next 2 weeks. 80lbs of wet sand, pool is 52" tall.....going to call a buddy over, split a 6 pack and then try to haul it out without damaging the side of the pool.
Review: Amazing stairs! - Easy to put together. You will need a rubber mallet for assembly. The ladder is large and we needed 3 people to install into the pool. (2 lowering ,1 to keep stairs down in the water) We did not fill sides with sand but water when we put it in the pool and added 3 -3 inch by 22 inch weights filled with cement attaching with zip ties to the bottom to keep it from floating up. After anchoring to deck the ladder remains in place. My husband is a big guy 300 lbs and they hold his weight. The handles are sturdy enough to hold on to, and great safety for entering and exiting the pool. These step are a huge upgrade and wish we had boughten them years ago.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Damn Pool Steps. EVER!!!
*by A***R on June 25, 2025*

When they say use soap to make assembly easier, they’re not kidding (that new spray-on Dawn is the bomb)!! Other than that (and a few judicious taps with a rubber mallet), assembly is a breeze. When putting them in the pool, we noticed that they were designed for the pool deck being higher than the pool edge. Not the case with our setup. So, I shimmed them up with 4x4s. Problem solved. But — the important thing — they are very stable in the water, and with two rails (as opposed to the one with our old steps) my wife has no trouble getting in and out of the pool on her own. A great value all around, that will serve our family well for years. Downside: Now I’m kicking myself for not doing this years ago!! Great job, guys/gals!!!!
