I had high hopes for this bad boy but I put off buying it due to the price, I’ve been bodybuilding for 17 years and I try to avoid anything that compresses the spine thus the reason I wanted this. I bought this in August and attempted to use it a couple time but it hurt my hips and the more weight I used the more pain in my hip joints I experienced. Also I found the range of motion is limited and it’s awkward to balance with weight, I tried using 3 inch blocks to increase the ROM but it was difficult getting on the blocks. Now I just use a TRX as handles to balance and use lighter weight and do around 20 reps while going slow (10 second Concentric 15 second eccentric) and I don’t lock out my knees. I’m going to make some 6 inch blocks and see if that works for the ROM. I’ve been using the loops with an other brute belt to place a bar right under my glutes while using a foam roller against the wall to perform a type of hack squat.Update 5/26/2021After getting a rack it is much easier to set up and use, I use a French curl bar and use the loop which is wrapped around the bar, placing the bar next to my body. I also use a TRX for balance and to allow me to lean back and get a better squat. Overall I’ve been seeing gains using this method but I’m still only going to give it 4 star because it does take a while to set up but it’s worth it. I do 5 sets of 12 to 20 heavy reps without locking out on resting at the bottom.

Amazing
In my opinion and experience this is the the very best tool available for hip belt squats. Yes it’s more expensive. However it is extremely high quality and will last forever. It also is the most versatile as it allows you to perform the most variations of hip belt squats (and is only one designed and equipped to perform them with a barbell attached beneath you which is the way John Mccallum prescribed them in his timeless Keys To Progress writings, and is the best way to really place the focus on the quads), it can also be rigged up to a loading pin or a hip belt squat machine (while I do have access to one I find the freestanding kind to be superior overall and can perform them at home) and makes for a great heavy duty dip/chin belt and low-tech heavy calf training device too as the description says. It also comes with a lil booklet discussing hip belt squats in depth and offers a full body routine based around them similar to the one found in Super Squats, and includes a packet with easy to follow instructions and pics on how to use it. It appears a lil complicated at first glance but is in fact pretty simple once you follow the steps and get the hang of it. The movement is a lil awkward at first too. Use a power rack upright or something like that to help with balance at first or to use for facilitating forced reps etc if desired (you can truly take a set of squats to failure using this). Its a unique and amazing thigh exercise that you have to try and get the hang of to truly appreciate. Works really well in tandem with straight leg or Romanian deadlifts. Can also be used as a pre or post exhaust movement for back squats. Its valuable for working around back or upper body injury or soreness and still giving your lower body a quality squat workout. The freestanding version of hip belt squats does indeed build useful athletic strength and stabilization as well (more so than machine variety), you can’t go wrong with this device for this purpose

Best non-barbell gym tool ever.
Constructed with high quality materials, sturdy, and very easy to strap up and load. Great belt for squats, hip lifts, calf raises, weighted chins, weighted dips, sled pulls, and weighted jumps. Check out their video on youtube about how to put it on and use it. Used it for the first time today (I'll update this review in a few months). I loaded the front strap with kettlebells and did squats on flat feet up on 10" inch blocks (with adipowers on). The first thing I noticed was a stretch up to the top of my spine that still feels incredible 3 hours later. I love the barbell lifts, but NOTHING I HAVE EVER DONE IN THE GYM HAS MADE MY BACK FEEL THIS GOOD. In my mind, the only lifts that count are S, B, DL, P, and now Belt Squat with this belt. 11/10. My back thanks you guys.

This thing is great!
I was reluctant to buy this because of the price. I bought a $30 dip belt instead, which is fine for dips. But if you want to do some belt squats with substantial weight, save yourself $30 and buy this belt. This belt has some engineering behind it. It's clever design distributes the weight evenly over it's surface area. It's very comfortable. Like another reviewer, I didn't care for using it with a barbell. I bought their loading pin, and now I look forward to doing squats. Money well spent.

blast your quads
I am surprised by how little weight I am able to use to be effective on my legs. at first I did not take the advise to elevate your heels when starting out, but have since started to, and am able to go deeper in to the squats. these will blast your quads.
