The Complete Adventures of Curious George

This book is so fantastic. It's so nice to have all the original George stories together, and it's so brightly colored and beautifully printed. The copy I received has been extremely durable so far. Also, a lot of people complained about the size and weight of the book, but it's really not unmanageable. I took the jacket off (the cover is bright and attractive all on its own) and that helps a lot because it makes the book less slippery. It's about the size of any large picture book, and only somewhat heavier. My 19 month baby has no problem picking it up, carrying it around, or flipping through the pages. Granted, he is big for his age, but he's never dropped it on his toe or had any trouble with it. So I think people might be exaggerating or being a wee bit overprotective when they say you can't just put it on the shelf and let the child take it down themselves. I mean, maybe I wouldn't put it on a really high shelf, but as I say it hasn't been any trouble for a toddler not even two years old.

I bought this for my granddaughter and she absolutely loves books. She just turned 3yrs old in October and I keep it in the car. She loves Curious George and I watch her look at the book page by page! The illustrations are definitely keeps her interested and she knows most of the stories!

The Complete Adventures of Curious George, Anniversary Edition, is a collection of happy memories. Whether your parents read George's many adventures to you, or whether you read them to a beloved child, this book consolidates all those fun times into one volume. It is a wonderful way to have every book without having multiple volumes. I found the quality of this volume to be consistent with other mass-produced hard-bound books which are not deluxe, collector's, or limited edition copies. This allows the book to be priced reasonably and within the budgets of more individuals. I applaud the publishers for realizing that more expensive editions might have limited the number of families able to acquire The Complete Adventures of Curious George, Anniversary Edition. I would not recommend giving this book to a child who will not be having a parent read to them. The volume is large and heavy enough to be unwieldy for small children. It is, however, a wonderful book to give to a family who values reading aloud to their children, to grandparents who want to limit shelf space for their grandchildren's books, or to yourself as a treat. It is a classic and a five-star work! I was able to purchase this from an Amazon seller, so if it is unavailable when you want one, be sure to look at those offerings. My book arrived in perfect condition and was a real bargain.

My now first grader and I read through all of the Curious George stories when she was between 3-5 years old. She still likes to re-read some of her favorites every now and then, so I decided to get this 70th Anniversary edition to add to our home library. I was impressed at the quality of this edition. It is hardbound with two bonus CDs. CD 1 contains: Curious George, Curious George Takes a Job, Curious George Rides a Bike, and, Curious George Gets a Medal. All four have different narrators. CD 2 features: Curious George Flies a Kite, Curious George Learns the Alphabet, and Curious George Goes to the Hospital. This CD too has three different narrators performing the stories. The paper quality is very good with glossy looking color illustrations from the original books. There is an introduction by Leonard S. Marcus, a publisher's perspective, and a retrospective essay for adult readers/ fans to appreciate. The stories contained in this edition are all of the original stories: Curious George Curious George Takes a Job Curious George Rides a Bike Curious George Gets a Medal Curious George Flies a Kite Curious George Learns the Alphabet Curious George Goes to the Hospital The bonus for me was the photographic album of Margret and H.A. Rey at the end of the book which provides a brief yet compelling visual history of the authors-illustrators. A great edition for collectors and fans of the precocious monkey!

I got the electronic version of The Complete Adventures of Curious George. The introduction contains information on the authors and how the story came to be. At the end of the book is an essay about the authors that contain actual photographs. All this is just a bonus compared to having all the Curious George books in one place. The reading is easy for adults to read out loud, though not as smooth as Dr. Suez books, it is still a book I don't mind reading every word to my kids, over and over again (well okay, most of the time). Maybe having so many adventures to choose from makes it easy to read the same book for many days in a row. It also helps that I loved these stories as a child myself. A great addition to any library. I chose the electric format so we could have something when we traveled. And this version does have all pictures

It contains seven books of Curious George. Also good information and photographic album of the authors at the end of the book. Those who havent read curious George, its a series of books about a brown monkey brought from Africa. Being very curious and mischievous, ends up in troubles every time. A very entertaining for read aloud to your kids. You can check option of individual books as well. I could get a deal for Rs. 950 ! Recommended for your collection and personal library of your kid. (Adults too would love reading it). We have a 3 year old and a 4 year old who just LOVE these books! I was excited about this particular one, because unlike the others which are only "in the style of" Margret and H.A. Rey, this one contains their original classic Curious George stories. The best part was that it came with 2 audio CDs as well, which are perfect for road trips or even just to give Mommy a mini-break that doesn't involve turning the kids' brains to peanut butter with a movie! The kids will sit and listen to the full CD if I let them. :)

I love curious George and so does my 2 year old. I bought this for him for story time and he loves it. The stories are long and a good bunch of pages so there aren't a ton of stories in the book but it is quite a big book so the pictures are large. The paper sleeve on the outside is maybe a bit too big for the book as it folds under and has wrinkled a bit. It is all the classic curious George, which I find much cuter than the new version. All of the stories are classic stories from the old books. The book itself is well bound and sturdy hard cover. Lovely for anyone who loves curious George.

My child loves to have me read these stories to her and she especially loves "George learns to Read" and "George goes to the Hospital". The learns to read story is actually an excellent primer for phonetic reading and writing. The hospital story really helps her to understand what to expect if she ever has to go to a hospital for an extended time.

Il lettore dovrà adattarsi alla lingua inglese, ma i bambini non si faranno troppi problemi se il libro è introdotto adeguatamente.
