The Advancement: Keeping the Faith in an Evolutionary Age

This is a very good book!
In this short volume on “Advancement” thinking, Bush argues that the modern worldview is based on philosophical naturalism and that philosophical naturalism is ultimately a self-destructive worldview. The reader will find this book to be very insightful, informative, and inspiring, because it will help the reader become very well acquainted with the many flaws with this philosophical system. In this little book, Bush does a wonderful job of presenting the material in such an easy-to-understand fashion, so as to leave the reader not only with a good understanding of the arguments on both sides of the debate, but he even goes a step further. He concludes this study by providing the reader with a more plausible paradigm for evaluating the scientific data.

Purchase the book for a class I am taking in Apologetics. This book stimulated my thinking to the way society is today and the influences that an individual face while trying to live a Christian life.

Great overview of apologetics and naturalism
Excellent read. The depth of some arguments are a bit shallow, but logical just the same. It is becoming a bit dated, given that it is arguing against naturalism and advancement thinking, which have been progressing in their arguments over the last 13 years. Gives a good foundation for apologetics, but requires adittional material for a strong defense.

The purpose is in the title "keeping the faith in an evolutionary age". Read for my apologetics class . Highly recommend this book for christians and nonchristians because it gives the truth about what we have not been taught in school concerning modern day worldly philosophy. Bush calls this "the advancement"

Meh.
This was a required reading for a class in apologetics. I expect that it was meant to be an example of an apologetic. It was fairly informative, and not overly burdened with obscure terms. I found some of the arguments to be a bit strained, and although perhaps logically coherent, likely unconvincing to a skeptic. Other than as an example it may be useful as an internal apologetic, that is to believers, but of dubious value as an external apologetic, to convince or move an unbeliever.

not bad
I have read better. There was a little more scientific stuff than I liked. I bought this cheaper than what is being asked.

Good Tool, Easy Read
The Advancement is an easy to read apologetic. It is not a comprehensive case for Christianity, but it is readily digested and an excellent tool for any introductory apologetic course.

Academic
This is not for reading outside the classroom. It is very deep with some parts confusingly scientific. Parts provide excellent apologetic information.
