Great easy read
Poemsia was just as good as Sad Girls. I loved both of these books so much. I feel like Lang Leav can never disappoint me. I mean Poemsia had me smiling, and just feeling for Verity Wolf throughout this whole book. It was a short, fast paced book. The plot was consistent through out and well written like everything Lang Leav writes. I could tell some differences between this book and her first novel. This was such a wonderful inspiring feel good story. It seemed to have some good tips/advice for aspiring poets. I seriously think everyone would love this book after the first sentence. I fell in love with the whole cast of characters. They were just real. I absolutely adored Verity, Jess, and Pop. I also want to mention Jonesy and Zorro the cat. I loved those two so much. I feel like everything fit perfectly with this story. Verity had the most amazing best friend ever. She pushed her when she felt like Verity really needed it and was always there for her when things got kinda messy. Which brings me to Penelope. She has the worst attitude ever. Shes ultimately just jealous of Verity and wants to take her down as soon as possible by causing problems thats already been addressed by Verity. I do wish some of her poems was put in the book though. I would have loved to read her poems. This book really makes you want to follow your dreams.

Disappointing
When an Instapoet writes a novel about becoming an Instapoet you get pretty much what you thought the book would be about. Leav is not what I would call a great writer or story teller but I do give her kudos for trying something new. I did look forward to reading it and picked up a copy at a local mega bookstore. It follows almost a Cinderella plot with a few modern twists with the plot being cheesy and prredictable with too much given away early on in my opinion. I found this novel disappointing but fans of her work on Instagram will no doubt enjoy it.

Light, refreshing and relatable
“The feeling is like the Ocean. Sometimes calm and still, other times, it’s a hurricane”Lang Leav is a name that you can trust. Her poems go straight into your heart and she proves the same to be true for her novels.Poemsia is Lang’s second novel and I grabbed it as soon as I came to know about it because her first, Sad girl I had missed and I did not want the history to repeat itself. I am so glad I did not let it.The book is about a 19 years old girl named Varity Wolf, who aspire to be a poet like her very favourite Mena Rhodes. Her Grand Pa owns a bookstore named Wolf books and one day while sorting out books, Varity finds a book named Poemsia. The book had many poems that she absolutely loved so she shared the same with her best friend Jess. Jess approves and motivates Varity to share her poetry with the world through Instagram. After much insistence from her best friend she finally decides to share her poetry, but before that she shares a poem from Poemsia which goes viral and so does Varity. This happens just the same way it had happened with her favourite Mena Rhodes. And Varity starts walking on the same road. But what is there for her? What has the journey to offer? Is it the same world that she had imagined? Where does her journey end?Well you will have to read the book to get all the answers. The book is quite relatable as it is set in the present era. The characters including Varity has their very own flaws and that’s what makes the book more realistic.Lang takes you on a short, speedy but a fun journey of Varity that you would thoroughly enjoy. A few of the incidents will make you fall in love with Lang’s writing style.“A person often meets his destiny on the roads he took to avoid it”“Each goodbye has its own destiny to fulfill”I am glad I started my year with such a light and refreshing read.Definitely recommend if you are looking for something fictional that is not so fictional.3🌟
