I have changed my mind. This item worked very well on my second use. It produced a loud audible crack and flash as it vaporised the fly on my PC screen.Once out of the package, it looks sturdy and well made. I charged it up and tested the light - it worked. The zap button also seemed to work as the red light came on.Moral: If at first you don't succeed, try and try again

oh my goodness did this scare me at first LOL? I was inundated with black house flies and little fruit flies. Don’t know where they were coming from and little devil to catch but this arrived plugged it in charged it and went on a mission. Oh my goodness, when it caught the first fly, I didn’t know what to do. zzzzz It’s a real piece of ammunition

Kills small flies. Okay quality. A little bit flimsy. Smell of burning when you do kill a fly. Not very noisy.

Worked great when unboxed then after a charge it seems to only intermittently come on so I’m just hitting flies with a plastic tennis racquet now waste of £10, I could of used a rolled up news paper free to swat them I want to zap them not flatten them or play tennis with them

We eat a lot of fruit and so are plagued with fruit flies all summer. We have always relied on the old yoghurt pot with white wine vinegar and dish soap til now...and it does work-ish. But my sister recommended this bug zapper and things have just not been the same since. I come down in the morning hoping the pesky little *#!!^@s are back so I can unleash the zapper. It needs a long charge initially and you have to waft rather than swipe but the CRACK each time you dispatch on is.... disgracefully satisfying.

It's honestly great- I've not had an issue with the battery, and I've as of yet got to run out of charge with the thing as I turn it off completely between uses. the grip is an easy size and length to get a good swing with, and the button and switch are in a place that with good seating, you can manage a good grip and get an effective control of the button for swings. There are 3 layers of metal to zap with, so if they dodge the first set, there are two more to follow up. sometimes the bat feels a little short and the distance between the plastic frame and the metal sheets sometimes makes it hard to zap a fly you've trapped on a wall, unless you scare them into taking flight and risk them getting through. The zaps are rather loud, indicating it might be a little overkill, and scaring pets. Furthermore, It's not unusual for larger insects to get caught between the layers and start a small fire, which leaves a horrid smell. The light is functional, but comes out of the handle, leading me to question what use does it actually serve?? It's not lighting up what you swing at in the dark. my only remaining qualm is that there is no apparent "stays active until turned off" feature, so you will end up holding the button down for long periods of time if you have a lot of insects to swat, or poor aim that would make it take a while to get rid of them, which could end up causing a cramp.

Racchetta molto efficace, la luce fa la differenza perché permette di catturare zanzare anche al buio.Grandezza giusta. La carica sembra durare parecchio, è durata per tutta l'estate e ancora adesso che siamo ormai a dicembre non necessita di essere ricaricata. Consigliatissima!

J'avais peur que la raquette soit trop petite à cause de certains commentaires, mais la taille est très bien ! Je n'ai pas encore essayé de la charger, mais pour l'instant elle est très efficace.

Diese elektrische Fliegenklatsche hat ordentlich Power. Von kleinen Mücken bleibt nur ein verkohlter Rest zurück. Mücken im Flug zu erwischen ist überhaupt kein Problem mehr und es blitzt und knallt richtig heftig bei einem Treffer. Aufladen funktioniert ohne Probleme, der Akku hält aber eher Monate als Wochen und das obwohl wir diesen Sommer eine richtige Mückenplage hatten. Größere Fliegen und Wespen sind auch kein Problem, man muss nur lang genug Kontakt halten, so dass es mehr als eine Entladung gibt, um die Insekten nicht nur zu betäuben. Absolut empfehlenswert!
