You got to buy this product! Amazingly bright!
First of all this thing is amazingly bright for 26 watts of power usage. I am going to take some pics of this light at different levels of darkness and views. You are not going to believe this LED only uses 26 watts and how bright white crisp daylight lighting it gives off. The unit is built very well of cast aluminum and nice clear, durable lens. I have had your STD halogen floodlight fixtures, those High Pressure Sodium and metal halide type yard lights and this little compact LED beats the pants off all of them. Now let me tell you why, the STD halogen floodlight 2 or 3 bulb fixtures are used to cover a large area like the back yard. The halogens actually have a yellowish tint to them and you have to aim each bulb to get the coverage in a large area. Even after aiming the halogen floods, there will be spots that are brighter and spots between the bulbs beams that are not as bright. These floods are very directional at best trying to cover a large area you may have. I then tried a HPS fixture very similar to this one thinking it will have a wider coverage, well it did but for 35 watts this fixture was supposed to have nice bright coverage for not alot of power usage and had dusk to dawn lighting sensor like this one. Well it had very large coverage but the light was almost orange in color and everything looked strange in this lighting. It was not some big powerful light with little power usage, it was not actually very bright at all and it's hard to see outside with it. I had similar problems with metal halide fixtures, dim and orange lighting. This little light I got now does it all for 26 watts, crazy! The coverage is extremely wide side to side and even directly below the fixture all along my elavated screen house. At nite this thing lights up everything 180 degrees and you can see right into my woods out back like it was daylight! Yes extremely bright white light with actual color correct lighting that doesn't turn everything yellow or orange like others. It is bright enough all around to actually easily see what your doing or detect strangers in your yard or woods! The price is cheap for what you get. I highly recommend this product and you won't be sorry you bought it, you'll be saying why didn't I get one sooner and glad they make these LED lights now. The construction is very durable and rust free. The lens is very clear thick plastic with a nice silicone gasket to keep water and yes bugs out of the fixture. It is an easy install to an outlet box or direct to a wall or surface like I did. It wasn't practical to wire it thru the back so it has a 1/2" NPT thread on the bottom for your water tight connector. You just unscrew the plastic cross slot plug and put your connector in. There were some questions about if there is a threaded connection for wiring on the bottom, yes there is! You'll love love this light and it costs nearly nothing to leave it on every night for security. You can see amazingly well in the dark of night!

Extremely bright, dusk to dawn works well. Industrial looking.
I have two motion sensor lights in my backyard and I had a scone that was dusk to dawn. I replaced the scone with this light. It mounts on a flat surface so I had to do a little bit of cutting on my siding to get it to mount flush. (it takes more room to mount than the scone did)I tested it in the day by putting my hand over the sensor and I thought it was bright. When it is dark it is very bright. Almost too bright for where I have it mounted. (about eye level) The sconce I had was dim and lit up my patio a little bit. This light cast light much further. (but it is probably better to mount it higher than I did)You never want to look directly at the LED array. I might consider taking off the lens and tinting the top half of it or even painting it on the inside.Installation was not super easy. There are several places that you can knock out the small shapes to get wires through it and mount it. None of them worked for my electrical box so I ended up drilling my own holes. It worked out pretty well though. The lens has a nice gasket that should keep it nice and dry.I wouldn't hesitate to put this outside of a business. In the backyard, it is so bright that you probably do not want it low or near anything you might be looking at. (like a door) The light is 5k so it is very white. For the price, I am very happy. I almost bought a similar light for almost twice the price at a hardware store and I am glad I didn't. I hope it lasts a long time. I wish it had a setting to put it at half brightness. I would permanently set it to that. I took a picture with the intention of putting it on this review but it is just a bright spot with my patio next to it. (too bright to photogaph at night)

A little work to install but super bright
The installation was pretty easy with the exception of removing the mounting holes in the back. I tried a hammer (and a hammer and screwdriver) but could not get the pieces out. I eventually just took a drill to it which worked well.It is very bright! I don't typically leave the outdoor lights on so it's not an issue, but as someone else mentioned I may install a dimmer for it.

Bright light in a sleek casing
These are fantastic lights. They are bright and a very clean design. If you have issues with bugs or other things getting in your lights, these are a great choice because the exterior is very clean and free of openings or crevasses. Access to the wiring connections is gained through the removal of the clear lens and white reflector. There are two options for connection. There is a 1/2" NPT threaded connection in the bottom of the fixture. There is also a 1/2" pipe (actual diameter 0.84", typical of Nominal Pipe Size) knockout on the back of the fixture. This is surrounded by a number of other holes and slots for mounting. The housing is aluminum and very sturdy. Unlike the threaded connection, the one on the back needs to be broken out. It is quite a bit tougher than a standard electrical fixture knockout. The technique I used is to drill a hole in the knockout and insert a punch, screwdriver, or rod and use it as a lever to snap the knockout out of the fixture. Once removed, file the break points and install the desired wire connector. My only suggestion to improve the fixture is to make the rear knockout threaded like the bottom one. Overall, I am very happy with the design and construction of these lights.
