Kids loved the plot, wording and creativity . Would recommend to all children aged 7-10, including those with basic vocabulary.

This author is virtually unknown in the USA, certainly as a childrens author. If you would like to laugh deep down in your belly, learn many new British words (mostly slang), and you have a child between the age of 8 - 12, this is the author for you!What makes these books so special is the amazing balance between comedy and heart-jerking pain of real life. In this book, it is about a group of children who are in hospital and almost 'forgotten' because of their cancer or broken limps etc. The staff are all mean, and it sounds completely negative. NOW drop in amazing adventures the kids have at night when all the adults are asleep and you have the backdrop of a special book. life lessons with rip-roaring comic scenes. My son couldn't wait to go to bed to get the daily installment (2-3 chapters) - 50-60 chapters in the book, so easy to make last a short or long time! Enjoy

What a lovely, engaging book. A great read not only for kids, but adults too. One of those books you can’t put down once you start them. Profound and touching, with humorous passages, it makes you think about life frailties and fragilities, and the things that really matter in life.Lovely reading for the entire family as a before-bedtime-ritual.

Gift. I don't know how he liked it, but I was tempted to read it first

My 11 year old received one of David Williams books last summer while visiting family in Europe. He does not like to read but David Williams books keep him in the reading corner. These are silly fictional stories and are easy to read. Even my 7 year old started reading the books.Great book to pass time for an adult as well and get a giggle out of it.

I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter E. She is 9 years old (3rd grade). English is her second language (first one is Italian). This is the 3rd book she reads of David Walliams (first one Billionaire Boy - we read it aloud together; second one Demon Dentist). All the three books have been read in the last two weeks.She finds the reading "enchantingly realistic and moving, engaging, fantastic, amazing"... these are her words.Just to be more specific. She read and listened to this book in immersion reading (with the audible professional narration).
