Amazing 3DS Case
This case is great. As said by others, this is the first case I've gotten that doesn't have that plasticy smell for weeks. It does its job well and overall is extremely well built. I feel safe that if I dropped it, it'd protect my 3DSXL perfectly. If you leave the bottom row of game slots empty, you can actually fit two separate consoles in. I only have a single 3DS so I used my old DSLite as reference, but the DS Lite is the same thickness as my 3DS. It made the case a bit bulkier but it is possible. Pros: -Well made, hard body case -Includes a removable, adjustable carrying strap -Eight game holding slots, more than other cases. You can fit two in each slot if you want but it's a tight fit -3DS is much more secure with the mesh-type strap vs the band strap with other cases -Has a slot to hold an extra stylus or two -The upper pocket can fit a ton of stuff Cons: -Upper pocket is too loose for my liking. It does the job of holding things but at the moment I just have a few styluses and a USB charger in it. If I open the case and pick it up so the upper pocket is facing down, the items fall out. If you had more stuff in it it'd be perfectly fine -Included strap is too long for me. I've brought it down to the smallest length but it's still too "purse like" when carrying it around. My plan is to just get a slightly shorter strap. Overall it's a great buy. Although it's more expensive than many of the other cases, the extra features of this case far outweigh the cost difference. I'd recommend this case.

Inexpensive and Surprisingly Decent
I was looking for a simple case to use for carrying my 3DS to work and back. The requirements were as follows: 1) The case be made of a rigid material to protect against drops or random things in my purse. 2) The case be able to hold a number of games. 3) The inside of the case be constructed out of or lined with a soft material to keep from scratching the 3DS. This case does have a hard shell exterior and feels similar to luggage or a case for sunglasses. I haven't dropped it yet but I'm pretty sure a 3DS or 3DS XL would survive a fall from from normal human height when sealed within. I really like that this case has slots for a 8 games. Including the slot in the console itself that comes to a grand total of 9 games. I have a lot of 3DS games and jump around often so it's nice to have the variety. It's also nice for extended trips where you won't be able to switch them out for some time. A more subtle positive but also part of the games requirement is that the game slots not be on an area that touches the console. This case has them facing away from the console so they won't be rubbing against it. There is also a stylus holder that I will probably never use. I'm not sure what the fabric is made of on the inside of the case, but it is soft and feels like the inside of my glasses case. The only negative I can think of is that I have an original 3DS and because this case accommodates both the 3DS and 3DS XL there is some room around mine. With the case closed and zipped, if I shake the case hard enough I can feel the 3DS move around a little. I tried the Technoskin case on my boyfriend's 3DS XL and it didn't seem to move at all no matter how hard I shook it. I doubt this will be an issue, but I thought I'd list it anyway. Miscellaneous Notes: The case came with a long strap that can convert it into a kind of purse. I haven't used it this way, but it's kind of a cool idea. You could probably put money, ID, and credit cards in the extra mesh flap next to the games. Also, unlike many cheap imports, this doesn't have any weird chemical smells.

A Decent Case, but It Smells Like It Was Made In a Cigar Factory
This is an okay case, and I was going to give it a "middle of the road" three stars. The material and workmanship are well done, it is sturdy, and the zippers don't feel cheap. The netting with elasticity is a nice touch and it seems to hold your system, items, and games very well. However, while I can recommend the case, I recommend with caution. The reason for the 2-star review is that while the case is okay, it is not ideal and certainly not a 5-star product as other reviews may indicate. It holds everything fairly well, and I was able to even squeeze in the A/C wall charger like another reviewer, albeit with a bulge in the case. For the new 3ds XL though, which is what I have, the fit is extremely tight. One may think this is a good thing, but it's not so good when you want to get your system out for a quick gaming session and it is so tight that you literally have to bend the case back and up a bit to get the system out, and perhaps even flip the zipper inside out to be able to do so. I felt like I was going to damage some of the shoulder buttons on the new 3ds XL when I did this. (I will also confess that I do have a duriflex clear protector on my 3ds which adds a millimeter or two of thickness, but not so much that the fit should be this tight). My recommendation is to not put your system behind the netting if it is an "XL" model. For regular 3ds system, it's probably fine. My main reason for the low rating though is that this case absolutely REEKED of cigar/cigarette smoke smell. I had to completely spray the case with non-toxic odor remover twice, and hang it on in the breeze and direct sunlight all day - and some of the smell remains. Not only this, but it was so bad that the plastic from the duriflex protector absorbed some it as well. Luckily, my 3ds itself does not now stink, but it's hard to sit down and play a game when all you're thinking about is how much my system now stinks thanks to the case. If you live in a household that smokes anyway, this is certainly not a game changer, but for non-smokers, the stink may be unbearable unless you're willing to try to get the smell out with an odor remover or something else. I was considering a return, but it's probably not worth it. Bottom line: While the case is well made and will be nice to carry your system around it (as long as it sits on top of the netting for easy removal), the stench is quite nigh unbearable. Update: Without me initiating anything, the company issued me a full refund, and was very nice in their email communication. I stand by my original review, but I've edited it because of the OUTSTANDING customer service that is very rare in 2015.

Good case, with one glairing annoyance
Case is very compact, nice that I can hold my games. The pouch for the 3DS however, SHOULD NOT be a pouch at all. This case should instead use rubber bands to hold the 3DS down. The mesh pouch works, donโt get me wrong, but the device is so snug that itโs a pain to get it out again. You have to maneuver your fingers in a way that only then, you can remove the 3DS. Against a rubber band solution, this is much more annoying to deal with. The usage of rubber bands would make the case so much better and easier to use.

The "Perfect" 3DS or 3DS XL carrying case. Period. The most rugged, durable, well built and designed one I have yet to see.
My son loves his new case for his 3DS XL. He absolutely loves the outside texture(I know, weird, huh?) and the look of this case. I had previously bought the "AmazonBasics Carrying Case for Nintendo - New 3DS XL(Officially Licensed by Nintendo)". This Technoskin case is worlds apart and IMHO the best case available for the 3DS XL or 3DS for that matter. It holds more games(8) Has a roomier but very secure pocket for the game system with a snug pouch for it to fit into. Also plenty of room in the opposite side pouch for headphones and even a car charger. My son also loves the strap which fits perfectly across his 10 year old body or on his shoulder. The strap itself is very well constructed(strong) and the clips at the ends are very strong and very well constructed. Overall, this thing is an engineering marvel for its purpose. I would give this more than Five Stars if I could. He was so excited when I showed it to him before ordering it and exuberant when I got it out for him when it arrived. He is still raving about how much he loves this case and how proud of it he is. Now I just wish I had seen this one before I got the AmazonBasics one since it is very firmly retired and will most likely end up in the trash.

I really enjoy this case for my New 3DS XL
I really enjoy this case for my New 3DS XL, and know that it would work for smaller units as well. It has a "net pouch" that snugly holds your console down to the base of the case. It holds 8 additional games to the one in your console, and has a second net to hold headphones, extra styluses, and other miscellaneous peripherals. The case is hard, but not heavy, allowing you to feel protected without worrying about weighing you bag down. The game-holding layer is on the opposite side from the console's "net pouch", as to avoid scratches, and also allows one stylus to be secured below the games. Overall, I am very satisfied. Personally, I'm not a fan of the "net pouch" since I have to remove my console via pulling it from the netting (which could scratch the face if done carelessly). If you prefer a simple "plop your New 3DS XL" style, you can probably cut the netting out easily. The net is beneficial for smaller units honestly, as they could slide around in the case (the XL units are big enough to not be mobile in the case). For those with hard covers, this case should be able to hold your unit with the hard cover.

Case fits only has enough space for console + games not charger
The case looked appealing, it had a nice carry strap that you can clip on to each side of the case to be able to throw it over your shoulder and carry around. The only reaso for a two star review was that it didnโt fit the console and the charger together in the case at the same time.

NOT WORTH $29.99 (and smells like smoke)
It's a nice case for the 3DS XL, or new 3DS XL. I had a hard case for my old 3DS XL and while the new 3DS XL fit it, the new ZL and ZR buttons were uncomfortably mashed in to the hard contours of the case. So if you have one of those custom fit, less forgiving cases, you may need to upgrade to a new case like me. There's no pressure on any of the buttons with this case for the "new" 3DS XL design. This has a mesh net that holds your 3DS in place. Then it has a little felt covered "divider" that lays flat against the top of your 3DS while on the other side it has individual mesh pockets to hold 8 games. Then it has one more mesh pocket after that to hold whatever, preferably something flat like instruction manuals or smallish accessories, like earbuds. Lastly, this case is NOT WORTH $30 dollars. The official licensed HORI hard case for $14.99, will do just as well. Some of the reviews on here go on and on about how good this Technoskin case is. It's not that great at a $29.99 price point. In the question section, I asked why the price had DOUBLED in the aftermath of the release of the "new" 3DS XL and a company rep defended the price point. They were 1st to market, so they gouged for a few weeks on the price. At the time of this review, the case is priced at $19.99. (So much for defending the 29.99 price point) I bought it at this price, but still think the HORI "new" 3DS hard case is a better value at 14.99 and officially licensed by Nintendo, if that matters to you. The problem with that case is it only has pocket storage for 3 games. I would not pay $30 + TAX for this case. I can verify the other reviewers that say the case smells like it came from a heavy smoker's home. I got burned once on ebay, bought a hard-to-find stuffed animal that reeked. This is not in that league, but still noticeable. I have no idea how they managed to stink up these cases. Very odd for a new product to have a smoke stench. The other bonus in going with a HORI case is I would bet you money it doesn't stink like old cigs. UPDATE: I was able to air the case outside for about 3 days. Opened it up, and let the Spring breeze hit it. The smoke smell is almost entirely gone. Raised review to 4 stars since the stink came out fairly easily.
