Better than the stock sights.
Adjusts very well. Easy to adjust windage and elevation. Make sure that the sights are oiled up before use. Makes it easier to adjust as others have stated. As far as the tool don't bother getting the sight tool. Real pain with elevation adjustment. Just use a small screw driver or bullet nose. Works well.

Great addition to mini 14
Installed this on my Mini 14 581 series. Its a great improvement over the stock rear iron sights. The windage and elevation have click adjustments can be adjusted easily with the tip of a bullet. No more messing with an allen wrench like you have to do on the factory sights. The rear aperture is quite a bit smaller than the one that comes standard on the mini 14. However, I have found this allows for more accurate aiming. This would only be a disadvantage if you plan to use the iron sights for short range engagements (under 50 yds).Overall, I highly recommend these tech sights. You will need an allen wrench and some blue loctite for installation.

Big Improvement Over The Ruger Sight
The sight itself is an improvement over the OEM sight Ruger provides (580+ series). The Ruger sight is an embarrassment with the way it must be adjusted with opposing allen screws. It is clear to save a few bucks on production cost/profit, Ruger cheaped out. That being said, the Tech Sight Mini200 is much better with the click adjustment method it uses. A FMJ bullet point works well for both windage and elevation. I had no trouble zeroing the rifle and the sight works well with the OEM front sight. The Tech Sight aperture is a bit smaller than the OEM sight, but was not an issue for me. It is a reasonable match for the finish on the matte black rifle. However, you will find the Tech Sight phosphate finish does not seem particularly durable and may wear more quickly than expected exposing bare metal. This sight is a bit higher than the Ruger OEM sight and you should consider this if mounting an optic, particularly with regard to the ocular/eyepiece diameter placement.

Good sight, get the adjustment tool!
Install was very easy, make sure to use loctite! This sight is advertised as being able to use a shell casing to manipulate the wheels, I simply can't do it. I really recommend the tool they sell for this to make adjustments easier. Otherwise, this is a way better sight than the stock mini-14 one.

I put this on my mini-14 and it made a great improvement. I can adjust both elevation and lateral sighting. Very easy to replace original sight. I am going to take the scope off my mini-30 and replace with this sight.

Improvement
Big improvement over the factory sights. Much easier to adjust. It is also more secure than factory which kept coming loose on mine and this sight has been rock solid after a few hundred rounds

Tech Sights give the Mini 14 near AR accuracy
The Ruger Mini 14 is a great rifle, however the rear sght is crap. I had it out to the range a number of times, and couldn't keep a decent pattern. Add the rear Tech Sight and walla, my groups tightened up significantly!!!!! The installation was easy, however you do need blue locktite for the set screws. Otherwise just take the old one off with the wrenches provided, and put the new one back on! Without any adjustment, I was able to keep all in the 9 and 10. If you are on the fence, spend the extra $$. You won't regret it.
