WARNING: It’s pre-tied!
Oh my gosh, did my sensei and I have a kick when we opened the package to find a pre-tied (as in a sewed knot) obi complete with velcro. Did I just miss that in the description? I still can’t find it.Anyway, it’s one of the cheapest options I can find and it suits my purposes for now. It has a nice pattern, proper stiffness, and holds really well. And hey, you get a perfect knot every time! HahaUpdate: I have been using this for iaido for a little while now. It still holds pretty well, but is definitely not ideal, especially for long-term. I’m very petite and it’s barely the right size for me to wrap around enough times (2-3) to hold a sword. So, not the most functional for sword work, but fine for aesthetics!

Good looking obi, except for the prefolded knot
The obi material and width are perfect. It arrived with velcro sewn on in strategic locations and a pre-folded knot, like a clip-on neck tie, which I did not like. The prefold looked too artificial for my taste, so I removed the threads for the pre-fold, and it works fine. The velcro add on pieces blend in, so I didn't bother to remove those but may remove them later.

Great buy
Traditional Japanese. Honestly much better quality than I expected. Don't like the Velcro or the sewn in tie front but I guess they make it easier to get the look if you're using it for proper purposes.

Velcro
It doesn’t mention anywhere in the description that it uses Velcro.

IT USES VELCRO!!!
NOT A REAL OBI!!!Not going to lie this upset me cause I was expecting a traditional obi but, got the exact opposite. Why, tell me why would anyone use velcro on an item like this like for real?Defeats the whole purpose of an obi!!!

Length in description misleading.
While I like the velcro design as I tie and untie my robe several times a day, it did not mention anywhere in the description that the velcro section only extends up to about 94cm/37".So while the belt itself still fits, the velcro does not work without modification. Also because of the sew-in fake knot, tying it normally is problematic.

Velcro? Why is that not in the photo??
You should mention the velcro. For a traditionalist it really sucks to see such a nice looking picture of a belt show up and only be good enough to teach someone how to tie the thing. Then whats the point if you don't learn how to tie it properly? List if its for for cosplay and use a pic showing the quality at least. please

Took A Second To Figure Out
Not a traditional obi, and certainly won't hold a sword. But it'll keep your yukata closed, and that's all I needed it for.
