TI-30X IIS 2-Line Scientific Calculator, Lime Green

Calculators are highly efficient, and TI makes great quality instruments...so that factor was never a doubt. But now it's cute, too...for my 10 year old who is far more concerned about that than whether this is the right calc for school or not. ;) She's a green fanatic, so the color itself works for her...and the fact that it continues with the green theme by having the lettering on the buttons in green, big bonus for her. The only thing I don't like is that the calculator in the image is all green...with the area around the screen & the solar grid a green w/swirls of somesort on it. The one I received is definitely in different packaging (red card with yellow stripe...image show yellow card w/blue stripes & black band across top), so clearly it's a different release of the same unit...some remodelling has been done. It's not enough for me to have issues about it (and I'd seen another reviewer mention the same thing so wasn't surprised when I saw the same thing), but I don't like buying X in description & Y in image.....and GETTING X in description but Z in image similarities. When online purchasing, the buyer evaluates the written data & reviews, but they also just as much evaluate the imagery as part of their purchasing choices. I'm not sure if this is a seller or manufacturer issue on this one. I will say that aesthetically speaking, I DO prefer the look of the all green w/swirls around the screen to the green with white around the screen...but is it something I can't live with? Nah.

Any Millennil going back to college needs super bright colored tools and supplies. A scientific calculator is no exception. Not only is this calculator just what I needed for statistics for psychology class, but the lime green was a welcome sight. Even if the coursework was not. It fits in my slim desk drawer, has yet to run out of battery, and fit as well in my palm as a smart phone.

Lightweight, pretty green color, and does the job. I needed a non graphing calculator for a class that could do more than add and subtract, and this is perfect. I think $12 is a fair price for it, but I paid more for the color. I have no regrets.

It arrived fast. It works. But I'm confused at why the design is so bubbly. It makes it difficult to type in numbers when flat on a desk. It constantly rolls to one side or the other forcing you to hold it to use it. Kind of stupid from a design perspective. But I'm sure it looks cool while being a pain in the rear.

This is the best calculator I’ve ever used. Very easy to do complex things. Battery life is exceptional. Visibility is great. Buttons are easy to press and don’t stick. This is the second one I’ve bought, only needed a second one because my first is in storage.

Way too much power for me... but I love it!

If you are looking at this TI Calculator then you should already know how good TI Calculators are. It does what you need it to do and it is really worth the price. ALSO TI Calculators are really hard to break, they can last years with out problem (which is good because you will use this kind of scientific calculator for a lot of university classes). ALSO the green color is just cosmetic, it doesn't change any of the functionality.

I like the way TI calculators work compared to other brands, and that still stands for this calculator. However, the viewing angle for the LCD is terrible, and I have to pick up the calculator to read each output. Sitting flat on the desk makes all the digits appear. Still much better than my TI 30 I, but my old one had a much better viewing angle. :)
