Fifty Lectures for American Mathematics Competitions: Volume 1

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this, but found that it was superbly thought out. The price may seem a little high, but I believe the book is more than worth it. I have gone on and ordered all of the other AMC volumes including the problem books and am very satisfied.

Errors in answers....The authors should proofread...

I have been using this series to prepare for many math competitions. The 4-volume set encompasses nearly all of the topics addressed in the AMC and AIME exams. Also, 50 AMC Lectures is unique in that it contains detailed, yet intuitive proofs for most new formulas and oftentimes provides multiple methods to solve a particular problem. This approach has provided me with a profound understanding of the concepts instead of just a “memorize the formula and use it” mindset. I would highly recommend 50 AMC Lectures as the de facto route for preparing for advanced math competitions.

Love every book published from the authors. Excellent topic-based teaching approach. This includes all MATHCOUNTS and all AMC textbooks.

I ordered all four 50 AMC Lecture Books and two AMC Problem Books from the author's website mymathcounts. They offer good discount prices if you buy 4 AMC Lecture Books or 2 AMC Problem Books. These books are in great order and hold your hand from relatively simple math concept to more complex level. Doing math is like get some brain excersize. You need a good trainer or coach, especially at this level. This set of books play such a roll. They broaden the students' view and teach them how to think deep. Maybe the next Google or Facebook will be created by those who benefit from these books. They also save many parents who have neither enough math knowledge nor enough time to help their children in math. I highly recommend them.

Too many mistakes in all 4 books! Did the author read-proof once?

Enjoyable problems and splendid solutions! I got these four books and I'm working the first volume right now. The layout of the book is very clean and I like how the notes, examples, and problems go so well together and with the real problems on the AMCs competitions. The solutions are very cleverly explained and clear; easy to read and understand. I highly recommend these four books to start off and lead you to your very successful AMC score( when you finish these books)!!!
