Do youself a favor if you have a noisy belt, buy this one, you'll love it
This is just a repeat of what others have already said. I have a Ford F150 with the 5.0 engine with over 180,000 miles. Wishing to get a few more years out of it I decided to replace some of the components that were original. The alternator, water pump, smog pump, tensioner and idler pulleys were replaced. Everything driven by the belt was replaced except the AC compressor and power steering pump because these had less than 5,000 miles on them. And of course the belt was replaced. On finishing the job I started the engine and really thought something was seized up because it sounded so bad. I removed the new Gates Micro-V belt and checked all of the components to ensure all were free. I also used a straight edge to ensure the correct alignment of all the pulleys and everything checked out OK. I put the belt back on and again the squeal was unbearable. I put the original used belt on and all was well, zero noise. I reinstalled the Gates belt and used the water spray test and it indicated the belt was misaligned. I have used this brand for years but now had my doubt, at least on this setup. Now to the point of the review. After reading other reviews of how quiet the Goodyear Gatorback belt was I figured what did I have to lose. I had spent hours looking for a noise I could not pin down. On receiving Gaterback belt I noticed a difference in configuration. It has relief grooves running from side to side making it more flexible. I installed the Goodyear Gatorbelt and to my great joy, total quite. Hours were spent trying to find a nose that was fixed by replacing the new Gates Micro-V with a Goodyear Gatorback. Is it OK to say you love an automotive part, I LOVE THIS BELT.

Perfect fit for Ford 5.4L 2V E-250, great long-term results
I have used nothing but Goodyear Gatorback belts on my vehicles for over 15 years, namely because they are the only belts to not squeal in any condition and seem to last almost forever. The only time I really needed to replace them was on my Crown Vic because of its aggressive front-end accessory drive (minimal wrap on alternator pulley) which results in belt wear during wide open throttle 6000 RPM shifts. After about 10 years with 1 belt on that car, there were numerous cracks on the belt and it stretched out quite a bit. With my other vehicles, the Gatorbacks have held up extremely well. I'd say that if you are not experiencing squealing, noise, wear, or any problems, you should stick with what you have. If you have a vehicle whose belt makes noise even after making sure your pulleys are in order, give the Gatorbacks a try.I installed the 4060990 on a Ford E-250 with the 5.4L 2V V8 engine, and the old Gatorback still looked new.Overall: 5/5 stars, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one or recommend it to friends and family.

Way better than any other auto parts sell
Highly recommend I have spent about 3 months trying to get rid of the belt noise on my 96 f-150 5.0 and about 400 dollars on alternator idler pulley tensioner assembly smog pump thinking it was the issue and I have bought about 10 different belts from different auto parts store and non have gotten rid of the noise until this one !!!!!!!!!

Solution to Squealing Belts
I have a vehicle that is notorious for squealing belts - a 1994 F-150 V8. I had tried many different belt brands and models, none lasting more than 3-5k miles before the screeching started back up again. Some house brands lasted even less than that.I read a forum post recommending the Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V as a longer-term solution. With nothing to lose except not replacing belts every few months I ordered one of these. It lasted about 25k miles before the teensiest noise showed back up.Granted, on a normal vehicle 25k miles is an abysmal amount of lifespan for a drive belt, but on this truck it was the difference between replacing the belts every 3-4 months or replacing it every couple of years. It's probable that on a normal vehicle there would be no lifespan issues at all, but alas, mine is not normal in this regard.Based upon my experience I highly recommend this belt as being very quiet for longer periods on vehicles prone to belt squeal.

Iโm not sure about the โStretchโ of a serpentine belt? I bought this to have as a spare. Delivered fast and ready to go should I need it.

Best Belt I've ever bought.
My truck had an ongoing squeaking and I suspected it to either be the serpentine belt or the idler pulley. I first bought a belt form AutoZone and in their selection it was their most premium belt they offered. I placed it and after a week or so the noise came back. I dealt with it for a while before looking at my options and then I found this belt and before I put it on my truck and thoroughly scrubbed all of the pulleys and let them dry after cleaning them with alcohol wipes. I've driven my truck for over two weeks now with this belt and I can truly say that it hold its claim as "the quiet belt". Good investment here.
