Bought for my wife and this is her review: Fit as expected. Top was a bit large in the bust area but that was my shape. Excellent quality and fabric was professional level. Not a costume but more of a real dress.

Love the outfit! I took measurements and ordered according to the size chart. I usually wear a size 2 or 4 in dresses and my measurements went along with the size 6. I'm so happy I followed the size chart or it would have been too small. The only thing I was confused by was that the apron is not on an angle like the picture. It's straight accross. You have to tie it up differently if you want the angle. Other then that I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase.

This dress is wonderful! I ordered a size 22, as my measurements were 47c-43w-58h, and the 22 was for 49c-44w while the 20 was for 47c-41w. It does fit a little loose in the bodice as I would expect, but I figured this was better than being too tight. I think that if you are an inch more than the stated size it would work but not much more than that. Skirt is full with pleats so will fit any size hips. Waistline sits just at the bottom of ribcage, not low. After tying the apron in place it cinches up the waist for me. The shirt fit me, it has elastic that is protected by a trim-pocket on the sleeve, neckline, and ribcage. The arms for size 22 fit my arms which are 17" circumference, only a little snug. They reach to within an inch or two of my elbow, so gives good coverage. The neckline of the bodice sits more in line with the elastic of the shirt, so the girls are not covered up. The quality of all parts of the dress are just wonderful. The fabric is thick, I'm having to steam it to get wrinkles out. States dry clean only. Nice single right hip pocket for phone/ID/key. My purpose was for a Halloween costume, but if I ever get my dream vacation to Germany in September I'll wear it then as well. Got it paired with the "Bavarian Rhinestone Edelweiss necklace (blue)", the "Bavarian Earrings Rhinestone Edelweiss (clear)", the "BOOLAVARD Women's Magic Bra Shaper Vest Breast Support (X-Large / 10-12, Nude)" and three of the "6 Piece Set - Crystal Clear Acrylic Beer Mug Plastic Tumbler, 24 oz". When I wore it with just my usual LB Balconette bra, it didn't boost the girls enough so I'll try it with the bra shaper when it comes in. Bolting the thee mugs together with tinted cellophane and cotton to imitate beer.

I took others' advice and ordered a size up, but it did not fit as snugly as I would have liked. Otherwise, the material is very sturdy and well-made, and the piece is very pretty. It does not show a lot of cleavage as other dirndls do, but this may be good for certain situations. For example, I'm a teacher, and I may wear this as a costume to school because it is appropriate.

The size chart is most likely accurate, but I fit in between (larger on waist but not so large on bust). I normally wear a size 12-14. Chose this dirndl in 14. (0rdered another color in 16 just in case) Fits at the bust, but a little snug at the waist. Note, waist is actually above your navel on these dresses. I could wear this without feeling too uncomfortable. The green 16 fit better at the waist and slightly larger at the bust. Both are good. Love the material=good quality. Blouse and apron are cotton and stiff, but softened after steam ironing.

After reading the reviews I ordered 2 sizes up and the fit was OK. The blue color though, is darker than depicted and the fabric is like canvas. Also, the embroidery around the skirt bottom ends in the FRONT and there was a noticeable 3 or 4 inch space with no embroidery at all where the seam comes together. With the apron over it, it would be ok, unless the wind blew. I might have kept it even with these faults, but the fabric in the blouse and the apron is a heavy, scratchy, wrinkly cotton. I could not tolerate it for a few minutes let alone for an entire Oktoberfest. Sorry.

To add to the confusion of sizing....I ordered 4 dresses of different colors and sizes all from Trachten Haus. I measured and ordered off of the sizing chart as suggested and a size smaller. I am 5’ and on good days 125lbs. For a total of two size 36(one and one Long in Black). I ordered the green in 38, long. And Blue in 36, long.The 36 short black was impossible to zip over my ribs! I was heart broken because I really loved the blue long in person which was also a 36. And amazingly the blue 36 long fit perfectly! Not to tight and not to lose!The 38 long black fit snuggly. While the 38 long green was giant!

Ordered to wear to Oktoberfest in Munich this fall. I took my measurements and ordered the size in which the waist would fit. Fits perfectly although the top is a bit too large as I suspected it would be based on their size chart. With a push up bra I think it will be just fine. The quality is very good. The color blue is very rich and the embroidery well done. Like that it just zips up front as sleeker fit than one that has ties. One pocket in the skirt that will be handy for carrying phone or lipstick. Can't wait to wear it. Definitely original to German design and not one that looks like a cheap Halloween costume. Should last a life time!
