2TB External DVR Hard Drive Expander for DirecTV

This is just what I wanted. The first one I ordered didn't work out. It kept freezing up, so I had to order another one. This one works great, and their customer service was very responsive. I'm a happy camper.

The drive was a plug and play installation. It works perfectly. The reason for only four stars is that the blue and red LEDs that show drive activity are brighter than a state fair midway. They really light up the bedroom at night. I had to apply several strips of electricians tape to darken the light slightly. Can't get rid of all of the light with tape as it would block air circulation that is needed for cooling.

Tried contacting the seller they are conveniently not answering emails. Drive stutters during playback of any recordings. I bought this months ago as a present for my father so we just now started using it. Very disappointing and a waste of money to find out it's a piece of junk.

After two months of using it, this DVR Hard Drive Expander have been keeping my DirecTV DVR froze. I kept on resetting my DIRECTV DVR, to make it run again, until I gave up. I unplugged this DVR Hard Drive Expander and go back to the internal hard drive of my DIRECTV DVR. Then it stopped freezing. So this Expander was the one that kept my DirecTV froze. I used DirecTV HD DVR HR-24. I cannot return this anymore since it is already 2 months before this freezing situation happened. Don't waste your money on it.

Simple to install, the vendor was exceptionally responsive and helpful, If you want to maintain a large library of films and programs, this will help you do it.

I have some minor problems. When fast forwarding I sometimes get a split screen making it a little hard to know when to go back to normal play.

Worked for 6 days but now it freezesSure itll rewind, fast forward and pause live TV but recordings are useless

Not impressed. Playback stutters and skips every few minutes and usually at the worst time in a storyline. Very annoying, have a Seagate drive on my other DVR and it never has issues.
