Moultrie D-55 security lock box
This is a fantastic product! I almost did not buy it because of a negative review I read about it from a disgruntled buyer. I can tell you from experience that unless you plan on shooting this device with an M-16 rifle it will secure your camera from theives as well as a maraulding bear, intent on eating it. I have no idea what the disgruntled buyer expected from this product but I can assure you that unless you want to cut the tree down this security box will do the job it was intended for! I can reload my SD cards in about a minute. I bolt the box to a tree using large lag bolts. what more would you want?

fits perfect
It's a fairly big but sturdy box but it fit the cam perfectly though (just make sure it's the correct one for your model). I reccomend it to keep your camera safe.

Saved Camera from a Bear
I bought this lock box because our last camera went missing. I wasn't sure it was done by a bear although my husband swore it was. We have yet to find that camera. I purchased the Moultrie D55 IR camera and this lock box as a set from Amazon hoping it would save the camera from either animal or human. As it turns out, it was easy to install and even though we didn't have instructions on how to insert the camera, we figured it out and felt silly for struggling with it in the first place. We used long screws to attach the lock box to the tree but elected to not use a cord-type lock, but a simple pad lock. We went to check the camera today and trade out the SD card and discovered the strap we put around the camera was loose and the latch had teeth marks and was broken! The lock box has minor scratches and paw marks but the camera itself was untouched and the lock box is unharmed and unmoved! We got teriffic video of the bear trying to chew on the camera as well! I would recommend this product highly if you have human or animal preditors near your wildlife camera! I will post pictures of the lock box.

This does not fit my Moultrie D55IRP
This item is to large for my D55 IR P camera. I see no way to line everything up so that the lens, flash, are not covered up. And there are no holes to line up with to keep it in place. Any suggestions. Wrong box? What reply from the seller? I ilke the box, but I want to know why seller said it would fit the camera, and now I don't appreciate no comment from the seller!

Cheaply constructed Moultrie cam lock box
I was unpleasantly disappointed in the cheap construction of this lock box made by Moultrie. The 2 main things that I did not like about it, was that you have to un-do the cable lock from around the tree, each time you want get to the camera to get the card or change batteries. The other thing was the thin metal construction that was responsible for the flanges on the front cover bending easily. Just guessing that it was made in China, my bad for not checking on origin before making purchase. I now, fully understand why the lock box was only $29.99.

secure
I like the box because it makes it harder for someone to steal your camera. I will buy one with all my cameras from now on.... with that said the only issue is it is to big for the camera. I had to add a block of wood inside to get the camera to sit high enough. Also did minor cutting on the face of it to make it fit. All in all tho not a bad product.

My Camera Now Stays Where I Put It.
I lost 2 trail cams year before last. Last year I lost one. I bought another replacement cam and this lock box and a MasterLock cable lock. It's been on the tree out in the public forest for 4 months now, and it's exactly where I put it. About the only way to get to my cam now is to cut down the tree. I'm a believer.
