Review: This is the answer to the question, how do I travel with a guitar? - I gave my son my TG Hot Rod Deluxe because his guitars have been in storage for a while. But I’m still traveling a lot by motorcycle and plane, so I used my kind gift as an excuse to get myself a new tool. This is amazing. More than a traveler guitar, this is an excellent guitar in every way. It feels great, has a fantastic sound, and has exceptional build quality. I like the onboard amp and tuner. But it really shines when I plug it into an amp. I love my Strat Am Pro 2, but this is a close second as my favorite guitar. It might even get more play because I like to play around the house and outside, and I don’t want to risk my Strat. One thing I would like: soft edges. This follows the same design as a Les Paul, with hard edges on the body and fretboard. I like the contoured edges of a Strat. It is more comfortable and easier to reach the upper frets. Regardless, this plays so well that I will just have to adapt. This will get a lot of play. Highly recommended.
Review: Pretty good overall - NOTE: Instruments vary, I am reviewing ONLY my unit ! Pros: o With some minor effort, excellent action and playability o Built-in amp allows playing with headphones o Built-in tuner keeps the instrument on pitch o Strings hold their tune very well - so tuner mechanisms are good quality o (Mostly) excellent fit and finish o Neck is true and level o Intonation was perfect out of the box o Readily accessible truss rod at the nut o Two standard strap pegs on the guitar body o Light, well balanced, short-necked and small-bodied. VERY portable. o Readily accessible electronics under screw-mounted plate o Really nice gig/travel bag o It was well packed, shipped safely Cons: o NASTY 1mm cratered paint blemish near the root strap peg :( o Re-stringing is a pain, as bottom string rollers are not retained except by strings o Supplied strings were (A) too heavy for decent action and (B) dead o Action, as supplied, was way too high, even ignoring the clunky strings o Distortion is very dry; most players (and me!) prefer a warm, tubelike tone o Tuner "almost right" yellow indicator LEDs are nearly indistinguishable from green "tuned" LEDs o All three jacks are on the bottom radius, so right-angle plugs required when sitting o Audio input requires a cable; most phones now lack a headphone output. Needs bluetooth So my first couple of days, I wasn't all that happy. I was waiting on the delivery of some light strings (Super Slinkys) and hadn't bothered to detune the instrument to adjust the bridge height, which was really way, way too high. When the strings arrived, I round-filed the supplied strings all at once so I could check the trueness of the neck, and... the rollers and rod at the bottom of the guitar fell to the floor, rollers scattering everywhere. After, all, rollers, lol. So after that little disaster was straightened out and the rollers retrieved from my cats, I re-strung the guitar to a very iight tension, lowered the bridge appropriately, and then tuned it up. If you re-string the instrument (and I definitely suggest you do), do it one string at a time. Otherwise, it'll fall apart. NOW the guitar sounds and plays like a dream. So, bottom line, be prepared to do a decent setup on the neck, watch out for those darned rollers, and likely you'll be pretty happy. If you want good distortion tone, you'll need a tiny travel amp. If you're a clean player, you'll be fine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what's the difference between this and the escape mark 3?**
A: The EC is a full electric designed to play/sound more like a Les Paul type guitar. The have electronics with some basic effect. The Escape mark 3 is an acoustic/electric that is designed to play more like a Martin or Taylor acoustic. It has no effects but the output is much purer (in my opinion) than the EC series. Love the Escape Mark 3 - bought a second one recently..

**Q: What hard case does this use?**
A: I found one in my local music shop that was for a bass Uke or something similar

**Q: How long is the warranty? For the eg costum**
A: 1year

**Q: Is it allowed as a carry on by airlines?**
A: It probably won’t fit in the “box” airlines allow. Main thing deterring me from trying that is there isn’t a hard case. I’d try gate checking a hard case instrument. Doesn’t hold tune super well anyway.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Game changer!
*by C***L on January 5, 2020*

One of the best investments I’ve ever made! I had low expectations, based on some of the reviews, but once i played it for myself I was blown away. It feels like a quality instrument in the hands. I was surprised to find that I like the tone of the pickup and feel of the neck better than many of the “real” guitars in my collection. Perhaps, because I’ve gotten so used to my Telecaster’s that tend to reveal all the flaws in my playing, but this traveler sounds a lot smoother in a way. It’s amazing to me how when playing along with my favorite tunes or learning something new on YouTube, how the built-in headphone amp perfectly blends the sound of my guitar playing with the music going in the aux jack. It’s like I’m playing in the same room as the people on YouTube, lol! Anyways, I apologize for gushing over a silly thing like a travel guitar, but I truly wish I would have picked up one of these sooner in life, as I’m now practicing more. For a while, I felt like I didn’t have the energy after work to strap on my old guitars, plug into large amps and fire up the rig. This doesn’t feel as cumbersome. I can sit on the sofa, next to my wife while she watches TV, and neither of us are bothering each other, just enjoying each other's company while relaxing and being self entertained. Please note; I knocked it down one star, because it is expensive, and I think some people will find it about $100 overpriced. However, money is relative. If the price tag doesn’t scare you and you can afford it, I’d say go for it. I’d even recommend selling some of your older guitars collecting dust. That’s what I did, and as you can tell by this review, I have no regrets about it! Game changer!
