What is the shelf life of the unopened tube?

Manufacturer's Product Shelf Life page states that the flammable version has a 2-year shelf life and the non-flammable version has a 4-year shelf life. I can't match a model number from the tubes, but either way the ones I just received from this order are dated close to 4 years ago. I'm sending them back.

Can I use this to vulcanize 2 pieces of bike tire inner tube together or is there a special other glue in the repair patch that reacts with this glue?
