Opteka M3 Professional Heavy Duty Folding Tripod Dolly with Case for Photo and Video Cameras

I really thought about what to buy among the different "same-priced" dollies available on Amazon. They all looked the same to me from the pictures, actually. I was skeptical about this one because no one left a review yet but I thought I'd take the chance, since I'm really in for affordability (this is the cheapest out there I think).First off, the material with which it was made doesn't look or feel cheap at all. It is very easy to setup (5 minutes tops) and also easy to put away. I was really glad it came with a bag for it to carry around, that was a bonus for me! The product is very easy to use PROVIDED the floor on which you roll it is also smooth. DON'T EXPECT it to glide smoothly on uneven surfaces (duh). The wheels are made of steel and are rubberized (I think this could be a problem after years of use). They can also be locked in place and is very useful if you want a more sturdy tripod.My only problem with it is the noise it makes when rolling around really fast. In any case, I thought I'd just edit those out. If you want an affordable and good quality dolly then this one is a must buy. FOR THE PRICE it comes with, it surely is worth it. Just don't expect a hundred dollar quality out of this one. If you're a pro, then I guess you would just have to invest on something with a higher rated quality.

I actually LIKE this dolly, it's sturdy, and well thought-out. The wheels run smooth and quiet, and it looks like a big deal when my tripod sits atop it. Appearances mean a lot when it's money time. Any one who buys this must understand however that the user is responsible for a smooth clean rolling surface. The Opteka M3 will work as a rolling camera dolly, but any scraps of paper, sand grain, dust-bunnies, etc., if they get rolled over, they can stick to the rubber wheels and then you'll get bimp, bimp, bimp as you roll along. Not good videography, and all but impossible to get rid of in post.Have a clean smooth surface and you'll get really high-end looking shots. I also use this dolly (wheels locked and sand-bagged) to get my tallest tripod up over the dance crowd so I can "tape" musical acts, combined into a 2 camera shoot.I must say I'd buy this again, you just need to know it's limitations.

Items works well. I've had some issues with the screws at base coming loose and falling out. If they fall out, they are a hassle to put back in as one of the pieces falls into the hollow plastic at the base.Other than that, these are a great simple tool for smooth shots. The only caveat to all caster dollies to be aware of is: you need to have a very smooth surface in order for them to be effective.

This dolly did not get very heavy use. I needed to shoot a quick video for class of a guy running down a long corridor, and I wanted to shoot him from behind. Since I don't have a huge use for a dolly, I didn't want to spend much. The Opteka M3 kept the camera steady and the dolly rolled nicely, but there was an awful lot of noise from the wheels. This didn't affect my shoot at all, as I was dubbing in music, but it could certainly be a huge problem for someone else.

got this dolly to go with my video tripod. it works great and adapts well to fit my tripod. wheels roll well and looks very smooth for what u get. i recommend if u have fcp to use this dolly/tripod and just smooth it out in fcp with the stabilizer effect. works great and for the price ur not gonna get a better dolly. opteka stuff is great and ill be buying more stuff from them as there products are very good quality and hold up well.

This dolly is a real doll (pun intended). It is lightweight, yet very sturdy and well made. Rolls well and is quite. Folds nicely. The pin locks are strong and well made, and adjustments for tripod feet sizes couldn't be easier. The only disadvantage is with changing directions from a standstill. It takes a little movement to reorient the wheel direction, which can lead to a slightly jerky start if one is changing by over 45 degrees from a "dead stopped" situation. I solved that by a sight forward movement to get the wheels going and then shifted direction. Worked like a champ. Other than that, it must be close to the perfect inexpensive tripod. Shipping was quick.

Overall I feel that this is a nice, sturdy dolly. Folds very compact and rolls very smoothly. Only problem I have with it is that the attachment to the tripod legs are a bit on the small size. My 504 tripod would barely fit. In fact, the attachment pad is so narrow that my tripod has slipped off a couple of times. Probably better for really small tripods only.

I found the best offer on Amazon. The only problem I would have with this product is that it is somewhat difficult for all wheels to go the same direction at various times. Other than that, it is a solid tripod dolly at a good price. I got cool moving shot with my camera with the help of this dolly.

I'm happy with this dolly. Nice smooth turns and relatively lightweight.
