MULTI-CODE 4140 Garage Door Opener Four Button Remote Control 300MHz

Unlike another reviewer, I had no problem setting the dip switches on my replacement Multicode remote. I have used a Multicode system on our gates, and the garage, shop, and detached garage doors for 12 years. My old remotes were wearing out and I was glad to find that Multicode still sold units that would work. The range on my remote is quite good and I have no complaints about the size. One minor problem is that modern vehicles seem to have thicker visors and the clip doesn't hold well.

Simple and effective. Works well. I would recommend! I use it at my shop to control the four bay doors while I operate the forklifts in and out.

Codes are a little difficult to set because of the switch lever size, Paperclip worked great. Only broke some plastic on first cover removal. Works fine afterward. Broken part was the top guide pins, very fragile, me not so much. I think there is a way to make it work for more codes by combining some of the switches but haven't read the directions yet. Still, well worth the money. Thanks.

The item was delivered in a timely mannner as described, but did not function the way I thought it would. I wanted it to open two gates and two garage doors, which it cannot do. It can only open two gates or doors with the code that you set. It cannot 'learn' a code from the garage door. I don't understand what the four buttons are for if they will only work two items. I have read the directions over and over and still don't understand.

What a wonderful product. With a total of five doors on two separate buildings, this device makes it possible to only have to carry one opener. Since two of the codes are overlapping, two of the doors, depending on my location, will operate on one button. But since the two buildings are far apart. this is only a minor inconvenience , which is outweighed again by the fact that I only have to carry one controller. Setting the codes can be a little intimidating at first, but is really quite easy, if you pay close attention to the instructions.The only thing negative I can say about this product is that the battery control cover can be quite difficult to open, and I have even broken one unit while trying to change the battery. I have discovered that if the control has been somewhere warm before trying to change the battery it is much easier to get the cover off and back on.

Although this is a 4x transmitter it only has two DIP sets. The first nine digits must be the same for button 1 &2, and must be the same for buttons 3 & 4. The 10th switch is always open for 1 & 3 and always closed for 2 & 4.You can't use this open multiple gates for service work unless you can change the receiver codes of at least two of the four receivers.
