We have two other versions (a really creepy old one and a newer, confusing-to-read one). This one is great; He wanted me to read it immediately! The illustrations are fabulous, engaging, and creative. I am a teacher, so I really appreciate that the visuals promoted engaged reading and discussion of the text. I also love that this book mostly maintains the classic story (the ending is altered) while adding innovative illustrations that add so much to the story. This is my new favorite version. It is adorable! One last note...In the back, they have included some tips on how to make this a more educational experience for kids. It is a good place to start if you aim to engage your kids a bit more. Review: Imagine swallowing a fly - Loved this story as a kid and still do.

I know an old woman who swallowed a fly children's book
An old favorite story. This one was gifted to someone. The text is pretty predictable and repeats itself, it helps to build recall skills in children and the pictures are funny.

Memories of long ago
I once sang this little story to my children, adding my own variations. We had a great time with it and I couldn't help purchasing the book. Now I'm singing the song version to my great grand kids.

Not the same as the old version
I'm not taking any stars off but my son reads the classic version at school and wanted it at home. When he saw that she didn't die at the end he was a little miffed. Not sure what that says about us but I figured I'd let it be known in case someone else wants the old version.

Pure fun!
This is one of my favorite, silly, pure fun childs book. I read it to my 3 yr old great grandaughter, of course you must add tummy tickling when she swallows a spider. We have such fun with it!
