This is a great little mower for a smaller lawn. It’s lightweight and very easy to move around, and when you’re finished it folds down quickly so it doesn’t take up too much space in storage.It picks up the cut grass really well, although I’ve found you do need to empty the grass box regularly. If you let it get too full, the mower starts struggling to pick up the grass properly.For a smaller garden it’s been ideal. Easy to use, easy to store and does a really good job of collecting the cuttings.

I have used this on two occasions so far. I have a small-medium sized back lawn, and a larger front lawn which is uneven in parts. I have found this does a decent job, it’s relatively easy to manoeuvre, and I appreciate the hover capability as it helps with cutting the lawn edges.I must agree with some of the other reviewers about the difficulty of removing the blade bolt to add the spacers. It was screwed so tightly the tool almost snapped! The spacers are definitely needed as it barely cut the grass without these, so be mindful before ordering as I needed to get help to adjust the length.I found the grass collecting feature to be useful, and this doesn’t need emptying as often as other mowers. It collects well and doesn’t leave a lot of excess grass around.The two plastic bolts that hold the handle to the body of the mower are extremely flimsy and fall out often, I am constantly watching to make sure they don’t fall out and get chopped up by the mower! Would have been good to have some spare bolts including as the mower will be useless without these and not sure how long they are going to last.Overall, I am happy with my purchase so far, just hope the mower keeps performing as it has so far.

I was very sceptical from reading the mixed reviews but it is very good!1. Easy to put up husband did it on his own in five minutes.2.Cut the grass quick and easy, we have a medium sized garden, took about an hour to cut.3.Has a grass collecting box build to it which is very helpful to keep things not too messy, I didn’t need to buy any other tools this alone did the whole job.4.light enough for a small framed woman like me to use, I needed a rest or two in between because of my back issue but not too bad at all, I need to rest with my Dyson V7 as well if that gives any indication(slightly heavier than a dyson vacuum but feels to me similar pull strength on the back)5.power cord is slightly short for us but no big deal as we have some extension cords at hand.6. Not too noisy, I personally find it pretty Low noise, again similar to a vacuum.7. Didn’t leave the garden messy as I was worried about it. I did the job in my PJs without any protecting clothing and didn’t end up getting grass all over myself.Overall this is exactly what I imagined when I ordered it, fuss free, easy to use, ticks every box and works as it should do. This is my very first time using a lawn mower and I’m glad I got this one. I am not an experienced gardener so don’t know if this would be good enough for someone has higher expectations than me, but if you are like me researching on lawn mowers because of Covid-19 and you don’t want to risk having people in your house. I would recommend this one.

Great light weight mower

I wanted a compact small lawn mower for a small garden. Its a great size. It does not seem to collect that much grass or maybe its just compacted. I need to play with the spacers as at first cut the grass is still quite long. As for the handling, this was the biggest let down. It doesn't move forward and I have to drag it backwards in order to cut the grass. It flows from side to side if I grab the lower handle with one hand and the upper handle with the other in order to move it around. Thankfully I have a small garden as its actually quite back breaking.

I have a small garden and a week ago I laid a new lawn (approx 4 x 2 metres). 3 x bulk bags (Approx 500cm3) of top soil to depth of approx 150mm plus quality turf. The lawn is level like a billiard table, no bumps or ruts and following the turf suppliers instructions I cut the grass ensuring the turf had rooted to the top soil beneath.I bought a Flymo Hover Vac 250 having checked the reviews. I wasn’t looking for strips from a mower but an effective cut which I intended to do regularly (weekly).I have used this mower just the once today and so appalled how bad it is I’ve repackaged it to return to Amazon and started the returns process.I had read how others found this mower very difficult to push and not float on a cushion of air as it’s supposed to. I thought maybe others had tried to cut their grass when it was too long, but I experienced the very same problem. I’ve mown bigger lawns over the years but this mower is ridiculously hard work. Not only was it difficult to push/move, pulling it back it dug into my new lawn dragging against the turf and has caused damage.The plastic side bolts that many have complained of kept shearing off, probably because of the effort to manoeuvre the mower and the fact cheap plastic plugs are clearly not up to the job.I had minimal grass to cut because my lawn was new so the mower didn’t have a challenging workout, and throughout I checked the grass collector box keeping what appeared to be a vented area clear incase this might have affected its performance but it didn’t make any difference.This mower is so poor I recommend you don’t buy one, it just doesn’t perform as the manufacturer claims it should and is so cheaply put together.That old saying “You buy cheap you buy twice” has never been so true as I now need to buy a new lawn mower and it won’t be another Flymo brand.

Perfect for a small garden. Does a good job each time I've used it so far. Sucks up the grass into the box quite well. Good price also, Very easy to assemble

Compact Mower, had these years ago and migrated back from battery operated one i have had for the last 7 or 8 years. Waiting to give it a whirl, just thought I'd relay experience of setting it up, trying to gt the nut off to add additional spacers was a nightmare. Tried adjustable spanners and everything before it eventually moved, thought the plastic orange tools was going to split and i had visions of losing a finger on the blade whilst in the process. All good eventually, will update the review once the grass has dried out and i can get out and use it.Update.The mower just doesnt cut lw enough for me and i have all the spacers on it to lower it as much as i can. Didnt take the flowers off the clover. Not impressed.

The motor was dead on arrival. Completely useless.
