Best Choice Products Living Home Office Ionic Air Purifier Ozone Ionizer Cleaner for Fresh Clean Air - Brown

Purchased two of these units, one in 2016 and one in 2017. Combined, I may have put a total of 50 hours usage on them - maybe about 20-25 hours each. Earlier this month, one of the units quit working. I opened a case directly with Best Choice Products to inquire if they could either repair or replace the unit. They simply responded that my unit had exceeded its 60-day warranty and there was no more that they could do for me. I would have been happy if they had offered to repair it, even at my expense, even happier if they had simply offered to replace it, even it it required some sort of "core charge", since it was out of warranty. However neither was the case. They didn't seem interested in offering any sort of remediation. Shame on me, for not reading the fine print about the warranty - 60-DAYS - REALLY? Anyone not willing to stand behind their product for at least a year probably doesn't have a quality product. Just my two cents. Don't make the same mistake, and be sure to check the warranty duration...

I bought two units, and they worked great for about a year or so. I kept the plates clean, and replaced them when they started to look bad. There is no way to open the unit to clean the interior. One stopped working after a year. I thought maybe the fuse had gone bad, so I purchased new fuses. I replaced the fuse, and it made no difference. The fan would not spin, so no air was being blown out. I thought maybe it would still work a little without the fan, so I left it turned on for a day or two, but it didn't do anything at all. The other one stopped working after about 18 months - same problem - the fan motor stopped working. I like using this type of air purifier because we have two cats and a dog, and they eliminate pet odors; and I like the way the air smells - very fresh and clean. I'm going to buy two more, but not from this manufacturer.

Set up this immediately upon arrival yesterday.and it cleared the room almost immediately, or so it seemed. Very quickly anyway. My problem is with the ozone - it is almost too much, even at the lowest setting. Turning it on, I could smell it from my desk in the same room within minutes. Perhaps I am using this in a space too small, a 12 x 20 room? Leaving it on for 20 minutes while I ran down to the corner store, I came back not to a fresh clean smell, but the ozone smell. According to the owner's manual, that indicates too much ozone. At least I did NOT smell my ashtrays.

I purchased this unit when I moved into my house, it had just the old house smell along with previous pet odor. When I first plugged this unit in it immediately flooded the house with the ozone smell and in a few days the ozone and odors were gone. I continued to move it room to room and also my vehicle and it worked better than expected. Then within a year smells started to come back with no change in living situation. I contacted the seller through amazon and amazon responded instead of the seller. They sent me a brand new unit and told me there was no need to return the old one. Same as before, several months in with the new replacement unit started to do the same. I have cleaned and replaced the plates but it appears that these units just have a life expectancy, from my experience its less than a year. My experience also is that this unit will maintain odors, keep the air smelling fresh, but not remove them. It worked awesome at first but slowly stopped. I now have the two units running in living room and its just not working. Although a budget unit, I would not recommend this product due to the time that they have worked for and there is no way to clean them (they fill up with dust and cannot be cleaned). I will invest in a higher quality name brand unit.

I bought two of these units for my home and am very happy with them. You tend to hear them running the first few days but by the end of the week they blend into the "white noise" background.PROS: Well built and effective at countering odors in the home. These units are very efficient at tackling strong odors like fish and other common unpleasant smells most homes encounter (I also have two cats and one dog that are indoors half the time so these get a workout ).CONS: If you have asthma these units may increase lung irritation because of the ozone byproduct (this is properly noted in the paperwork). Check with your doctor before purchasing if you have this condition.OTHER THOUGHTS: I am very glad I bought these units. If you purchase one of these be sure to properly and regularly clean the screen cards as they will quickly lose their effectiveness if left unattended for over a month (Very easy to pull from the back and rinse, dry, and pop back in. (No replacing filters...Yea!) Cheers!

I purchased the ionizer because I wanted to recreate the ion effect of the forest and the beach. There are two controls - one for the air purifier and one for the ionizer. The air purifier can be run with or without the ionizer. This unit quickly produces the full effect in small rooms. There is a distinct change in the smell of the air which can be displeasing to those who have not experienced it. This unit is used in a bedroom so the ionizer is turned on for a limited time while the room is unoccupied. It could be left on continuously in a larger space without such a noticeable effect.The assembly is simple and there is a clear instruction/maintenance manual included with the product. It is well constructed and has a long cord.There is a white film that accumulates on the encasement that needs to be wiped off on a regular basis, depending on usage.There is a hum with both the purifier and ionizer which provides white noise and should be considered if sound is a concern.In summary, I wish the unit was a bit quieter and that the smell of the air weren't so noticeable but I believe the health benefits outweigh the drawbacks. For the most part, many products that address air purifying require the replacement of air filters at additional cost. The plates in this unit are easily cleaned and durable. It is a healthy and less expensive to other similar products.
