Great set of strings!
Purchased this for my husband’s guitar and he loved the sounded. He also said they didn’t have to be tuned up very often either. I will be purchasing another few sets for his other guitar’s.

Best for my Flatiron 1N
Bought these string based on many Mandolin Cafe recommendations. I have a Flatiron 1N pancake mandolin. They are the proper gauge strings as recommended by the manufacturer, and to my ear they sound great. Plenty of volume, they stretched quickly and hold tune very well. I'll be using these from now on.

Big Improvement.
I put this set on my Washburn F body mandolin because it has slightly heavier treble strings, without increasing the guage of the bass strings. Really improved the sound over standard light guage without being bulky like medium guage.

more mellow tone is fantastic for my needs
I'd been practicing on/off for about a year on the strings that my mandolin came with and kept giving up on building calluses because of the pain and fingertip heat involved (I used to be a violist, so I'm not completely inexperienced with the callus-building process...but was still having a rough time.) These strings are soft enough that I can practice three-four times as long with no pain, which gives me way more incentive to keep going - and the calluses are gradually building up! I have no immediate plans to play the instrument publicly so the softer, more mellow tone is fantastic for my needs. It's actually a sweeter tone than the strings I had before, so while there may be something lost on volume, I prefer these all-around for my current use.

perfect for old vintage banjolin.
I use these for a Banjlon that is very old and does not hold up to regular size. It is plenty loud and intense with these ultra light strings on it. These are the best strings I’ve ever bought for the purpose. And so comfortable to play.

Great for Beginners!
As a new mandolin player, I was having break-in difficulty with the thicker strings that came with the instrument. These have allowed me to learn the finger positions of the instrument. They may not be as loud as the thicker ones, but good for learning the mandolin.I may put some .11's on at a later date, but for now, they work just fine. If you're playing with more than three other instruments, you're going to need a pickup anyway.
