Fantastic
Bought this 2+ years ago for my 5.1 system in my Dorm room. Since then it has survived 3 moves, 4 different installations, thousands of hours of use, and hundreds of plug-ins. I used it as an extension for my laptop when I was in my room, and it was awesome. Works great and I have no issues. My only complaint is that I have since lost the driver CD it came with, and am struggling to find the drivers for it online.

Great add-on
Hello, i've purchased this hardware, i was in the need of adding 5.1 sound to my laptop. I really like the device, is small, has UP/DOWN volumnes on top, work as advertised just great. Here are my 2 cents; It comes with a built in software where you can add effect to the music, change the output value, a nice software where you can manage sound quality and test the speakers. What i didn't like is, the software doesn't have an option where you can simulate sound on all speakers, this would have been incredibly handly when you are running application or sounds that aren't 5.1 native. A little workaround is you need to find the plugin's for the application you are running. It worth every penny, i highly recommend it.Have some question, let me know.

I tried but I finally let go of the idea of 5.1 sound from my laptop.
This is either the second or third piece of external hardware I've tried to get my Logitech 5.1 system to play from my laptop(s). I actually first got it for my older HP (back in 2009). Gave up. Last year (2012) I bought a new Samsung. Still failed. And yes, I've experimented with the software extensively (and I consider myself pretty computer savvy). I DO, however, still use the thing but only because it can successfully play 2.1 sound out of my 5.1 speakers, which is exactly what I could do without this device--the only difference is that I find it easier to plug-in/disconnect the speakers through a USB port than plug and unplug the cords manually every time I take my laptop off my desk.

Good but not the Best
Plays 2 Speakers & Subwoofer out of a 5 Speakers system.I am not completely happy. However, the sound is still good...

Worked okay
I purchased the USB 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter back in 2011, and although I didn't use it extensively and no longer have it, during its time in my possession, it performed admirably. The adapter worked fine, delivering a satisfactory audio experience without any noticeable issues. The compact design and straightforward functionality made it a convenient solution for enhancing audio capabilities on my devices. While I can't speak to its long-term durability, for the period I had it, the USB 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter proved to be a reliable addition, providing the expected audio quality. If you're looking for a simple and effective audio enhancement solution, this adapter could be a suitable choice based on my experience.

Great Item
Does exactly what it says. It is PERFECT for someone like me who uses a laptop as their DVD/Blu-ray player and has surround sound but the laptop doesn't have 6 channel output. The ONLY thing with this is you might have to go to their website and download the driver (as I had to). It says it's plug and play and it sort-of is, because I have windows 7 and it would play the rear speaker sounds through the front until I found the AA1500 driver on [...]Once I installed that bad boy, the speakers worked to perfection, and now I have perfect 5.1 surround sound on all of my movies :DGreat product. As for the person that said he wanted to use this for recording, this product is not made for recording. It will not have good quality on recording. It is made to convert PCs that would usually only support 2 channel output to support 6 channel (5 speakers and a subwoofer).Overall a perfect product and a great price!
