What I can tell you is that the QX-2 works pretty well right out of the box. (It does NOT come with an air mouse, so you'll want to make sure you have a compatible input device. I'm using a Tronsmart air mouse). The QX-2 is slightly larger than I expected, but thankfully the "fins" that I saw in one pic were really just ridges on the outer case. It's a nice-looking device. I'm streaming movies over an Akitio MyCloud and watching them on an Asus BM-1 projector, and it all works pretty well. I'm not interested in 1080P, and I did not flash the ROM. I did get XBMC working, sort of, but I like the Akitio software better. The downside to the QX-2 is that sometimes I mouse-click and it takes half a minute or longer to respond. I expected it to be more responsive. It also doesn't have an on-off button, but I think that's pretty much standard on these devices. All-in-all I'm giving it four stars because it works. However, I expect to replace it when something faster comes along. For those that have narrow HDMI slots, this product does come with an hdmi extender so that wouldn't be a problem.Pros: well built, good accessories, works as intended.Cons: this product uses android 4.2 which is an os for tablet. Youtube, netflix and many other apps don't provide 1080p streaming so I find it a little annoying for my 1080p tv. Wifi isn't dual band.I don't recommend this product if you do a lot of you video streaming like youtube or netflix. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Unbelievable! *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 12, 2014* Improved version of the QX!. No over heating with full load of apps running with the new heat sink design. Runs 1080p perfectly. Image on 720p TV is stunning with the 1080 feed from this unit. Now for the best news. This will plug into the Denon series of receivers and plays everything and all top formats of files. As you know Denon has signed on with Air Play which limits what you can pass thru the Denon Receivers. Tons of in compatibilities. This unit ends all that.
