Sorry but it is a great radio! **Q: how do you turn it on?** A: It can be turned on with the remote or by simply touching the top of the radio with the palm of your hand.My husband uses the remote; I use my hand. This will turn on or off the radio. **Q: I am interested in the AM radio and the reception you get** A: This is the best radio reception I have ever had. So dont back it up into a corner and it will be perfect for ya,if your hearing too much bass sound,try putting it in several different places and you will find the sound and bass will be much better in different places.
