Bought for a Gift
This rolling pin is awesome! Easy to clean, and heavy duty in a manageable way. Simple, easy use too. Roils evenly and as gentle as you want / need. Definitely worth the money for a good rolling pin.

Nie heavy duty rolling pin
This rolling pin is what I had been looking for some time. We make homemade ravioli a couple of times a year and this rolling pin is ideal for rolling out the dough. Nice and heavy and wide, rolls smoothy and has nice bearings. I got it on sale and the price was great for this quality rolling pin.

Heavy duty and beautifuk
Bought as a gift. Pleased with several things: the weight is solid. Which makes the pin versatile; the pin spun silently on the dowel; the manufacturer imprint is on the end of the pin, near the handle end; the handles, since they are attached to the dowel, do not move in motion with the pin; the pin is made from walnut and the wood was a little pale. We treated it with some food grade oil (which can also be used for butcher blocks) and it really brought out the color; and lastly, manufactured in the US with wood from the US.

Very beautiful and functional, but not as well finished as hoped
We had bought a smaller version of this rolling pin many years ago ( J.K. Adams Patisserie Maple Wood Rolling Pin, 12-inches by 2-3/4-inches ), and it's still perfect. But that one was sanded and sealed better than this one, which is much more like raw, unfinished wood. The description says "Finished with mineral oil" and maybe it is - raw wood soaks up a lot of oil and can look unfinished even though it's not. (Note: the product website describes these as "waxed", which our first one was: https://www.jkadams.com/collection-58). But compared to our earlier one, this isn't nearly as smooth or looking like it would be as resistant to absorbing food.Another minor point: the Amazon description says "Maple Wood" in the name, but "Ash" further down. Which is it? It makes a small difference, because maple has more natural variations but is sturdier than ash. Judging by its appearance, it's hard to tell. It really doesn't matter, just thought it was strange.Anyway, we'll keep it, and maybe I'll sand it and finish it with more oil (probably boiled linseed oil rather than mineral oil, but not important). If there's anything noteworthy to report after a few more months of use, I'll update this review.

Almost Perfect!
Patisserie Maple Wood 15-inches by 2-3/4-inches. The barrel is perfect & smooth as imaginable. The internal bearings are silky.Whoever at the manufacturer puts the irremovable STICKER on it should be fired.Complaint: moderate force on the handles causes the rod through the inside of the barrel to drag just a little.Otherwise, it's a serious Rolling Pin; not an imported toy! If I needed 2 of them, I'd buy it again.

Amazing craftsmanship
Very impressed. Our friends were amazed at the craftsmanship of this product. Most people had no idea that professional bakers would need a professionally made rolling pins made to get the job done with speed and accuracy every time. Itβs obvious JK Adams is not interested in selling you the same product several times over. Their products are designed to last, never needing to be replaced.

Solution for the sticker
I almost deducted a star because of the sticker, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Run a hair dryer on it for a few minutes to heat it up, then carefully peel the sticker off slowly while still blowing heat on the glue side. Stop heating once the sticker is off. Now simply rub your finger on the left over glue and it'll come right off.

Definitely worth the price
This is a great rolling pin. I love that it is wider than the standard size one I had, so it can handle a large piecrust or noodle dough. Rolls easily, and the surface holds a fine dusting of flour, to prevent sticking but without adding too much flour to the dough. Some reviewers complained about how heavy it is, but I find that the weight of the pin itself does most of the work, so just rolling it across the dough produces what I want. It's actually less work than with a lighter roller that you have to press down on. Smooth. I also like that it is made in the USA.

Super!
The rolling pin is awesome! I use it several times a year, and works great! It's made of quality maple wood and is very wide. Wide enough to flatten pastry to make a pie in one pass. I would definitely buy another.

Beautifully made but damaged during shipping
Seems like a terrific item and the quality is well done. Solid feel, beautiful wood, great length for pie shells. Unfortunately the handle was cracked when it was shipped to us so we had to return it.
