Beautiful rifle scope
Vortex Optics.... A+! I own 5 other Vortex red dots and rifle scopes. I try to rate everything fairly and so far all my Vortex products have been quality stuff. Put this on a Savage Trophy Hunter 270 Win. Purchased some Warne Medium 1" Scope Rings to go along with this scope. I kept the 2 bases that came with the rifle. I always try to get the lowest scope mounts, and the medium clears the barrel and the bolt. Shot about 60 rounds at the range, and it's very clear and lets in a lot of light. I have not used the shade, but will likely carry it with me to block glare, or if it's raining. So far, it held zero after sighting in. I love the side AO. Turrets are audible 1/4 MOA clicks. Going from 4 to 16 zoom is very smooth. I'm sure there's other brands of scope out there that are comparable, but hard to put in the price range Vortex offers. I always feel confident in purchasing Vortex because they produce quality products for a great price and a lifetime warranty.Update 5/15/2016: I removed the scope from my Savage 270 Win and put on my Savage FV-SR 22LR with Boyd's Pro Varmint stock for bench rest shooting at paper targets. Same beautiful quality and getting 1/2"-3/4" groups with factory CCI ammo. Reason I replaced this on my 270 Win was that now I am using the rifle for spot-and-stalk, so I needed one that was lighter in weight for mobility and less magnification power as my shots are sometimes as close as 20 yards.

One of a kind
I find this scope to be very unique. I'm not sure how many are being sold, but I'm sure they will sell plenty once the word gets out. I was looking at this scope when I chose to buy the crossfire II 2-7x32 to save some money. The crossfire is a great scope also, I'm going to keep it and probably put it on another rifle in the future (been wanting to add a 22 to my collection). But I couldn't get this scope out of my mind. It's the same size as the crossfire II 2-7x32 but with better glass, a side parallax adjustment, and a bit more magnification. It's perfect for the AR platform because of it's size, price and ability. So I went ahead and purchased it. I have a colt le6920 with Magpul furniture. This scope just barely clears the rear sights when they are folded down. That's good, most people will tell you it's good to have it mounted low, and I like having my eye down close to the charging handle. I'm using an American Defense recon qd standard height mount with this. Perfect for what I wanted. I also have a red dot with a qd mount that I can switch out with this scope when I'm at the range. I haven't seen any other scopes in this magnification range with a side adjustment. They maybe out there but I haven't seen them, and I'm perfectly happy with this scope. I'm completely sold on Vortex scopes. I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Made a fan out of me!
I absolutely love this scope! It is extremely easy to use and adjust. After bore sighting it in my house (with no bore sighting tools or anything like that. Just looking down the barrel at a spot on the wall and lining the reticle up to the same spot) I took it out in the field. Set up my target at 50 yards and it took 7 shots to sight it in. I set up my rifles for a 50/200yd zero. This scope will turn my rifle into a tack driver for sure! I'm not quite finished zeroing it in yet but it's really close! I am not a fan of the plastic turrets and it seems like the center screw is plastic also but it is Vortex so I'm not worried. The clicks on the turrets are not very audible but you can feel them. I think the turrets is where they saved money on this scope because I have felt tighter more precise audible clicks from metal turrets that I prefer. This is my first experience with the parallax turret and I like it! I find it extremely easy to use once you figure out what parallax is. Overall I give the scope an A+! I find this extremely easy to use. The glass is incredible. The eye relief is very generous. In fact I caught myself creeping up a little too close and losing my field of view. There is no need to get right up on this scope with your eye. I have it set perfect at a nice relaxing distance for me. The eye relief that I have is about 3.75 inches. I mounted this on a Vortex Sport cantilever mount with a 3 inch offset and a scope tube height of 1.59 in from the base. This gave me perfect ergonomics.

Vortex Diamondback Scope
Sighted in using a bore-laser. Horizontal and vertical adjustments were simple. The eye relief is normal for a scope, but finding the right distance and location is a bit tricky for me. Otherwise the scope has very good clarity, excellent 3x to 12x magnification, and is very solid. Paired with Vortex rail mounts. I do recommend a taller rail mount for Armalite-style uppers.

Great scope
Great scope at a great price. Feels sturdy, clear, nice options, has a sun shade and life time warranty. For 400 dollars canadian I couldn't ask for much more in a scope without there being quality issues.
