A really simple to use bike transportation system
Aside from being expensive, this is a really great bike transportation option. Once constructed (very little required, just need some open space), it attaches to the roof rack quickly (and detaches just as quickly). The main support beam feels sturdy and holds the bike in place nicely. The support beam clamp has rubber on it to protect the bike and the tightener-wheel has an internal torque control to let you know when it's torqued to spec (just turn until it clicks loudly twice). The wheel cradles are moveable, and can be set to a specific spot if you will only ever transport the same bike. They don't seem to cause problems if left free-floating though. The system is setup to be installed on the passenger side of the vehicle, but has instructions to change it over to the driver side. The instructions also explain how to use two simultaneously (mostly just know one bike will face backward since the support beam is going to be directly mounted to the front cross bar). Using a key-set, it can be locked to the bike, and the rack to the vehicle's cross bar, so as a minimum to key-lock the bike to the car, you'll need 4 Thule-compatible locks (two for the crossbar mounts, two for this). Overall this doesn't seem to cause much more noise than the cross bars themselves do, if anything it seems to help attenuate it, but that gets negated by the bike itself. For reference, I'm using Thule square cross bars. Getting the bike on and off is a breeze as well, even after long bike rides. Just lift the support beam to the approximate angle to attach (as low as possible/look at instructions), get the wheels in the cradles roughly, tighten the support beam clamp, then seat and strap in the wheels. To remove the bike, unstrap the wheels, then press the clamp release lever while supporting the bike, and then pull the bike off.

Easy to use - Excellent versatility.
Pretty decent overall. The instructions were not exceptionally clear, but the rack was easy to install once I got everything lined up on roof-rack crossbars. I did install 2 Thule locks (sold separately)โฆand I agree with other reviewers - these items should be included as โstandard equipmentโ with the rack. The wheel cradles were easy to move and adjust (be careful though - it is possible to push the end cap off and slide the wheel cradle completely off of the rail). This rack worked very well for carry childrenโs BMX-style bikesโฆclosely spaced top frame tubes and down tubes can make it challenging to get the rackโs frame locking arm positioned correctly. Easy to use. Iโd purchase this rack again, as well as recommend it to others.

For $400 no locks? Lol
Installed into inno cross bars using t slots. Installation was straight forward once I figured out what was what. The wheel straps have a ratcheting action for a strong hold. The frame bar creates a solid hold securing the bike in place even when driving over bumps and turns. Did 50 mph just fine. Iโd imagine the same at 80 mph. The audacity to charge $400 and ask for more money for locks is kinda sending me. Like cmon you canโt control your expenses enough to include locks?

Great rack -- just not for short people with tall vehicles
The rack itself is great. However, it's very difficult to use if you're a shorter person or have a taller vehicle ... or both, like me. I installed this rack on a Volvo XC90 and it's impractical and unsafe for me to try to use it without a step stool or ladder.

Works well, great customer support
I have this rack on multiple of my cars, works great. Unfortunately on my most recent purchase of it after a week of use the rear strap plastic piece broke. However I called Thule and within ten minutes I had a new piece sent out for replacement. No charges or anything. More than happy and the rack works great.

Great rack BUT if you have an SUV, it's difficult to place/retrieve bikes
I'm a long-time Thule user and I've had multiple roof and rear-hitch racks over the years. This holder was very easy to install on my new Audi Q5 factory rack BUT it's pretty much impossible for me to install even a light bike into the holder without an external step. I'm 5'10" and there's no way to articulate all the moving parts when standing on the ground next to my car. Hence, I need to carry a step with me in order to place a bike into a holder. If I had a sedan or smaller hatchback, none of this would probably be an issue but on my Q5, I can't put a bike up into the holder without some elevation under foot.

Chews up front end over prolonged use
Even when tightened down all the way, this product allows the front wheel to wobble at a high frequency a couple inches left to right over 50 MPH. Casual use (minimal distances and infrequent use) may not make a big impact. (Note: this issue doesn't present itself with traditional road tires (25mm)) Cross country drives and/or daily use may wreck front when bearings, depending upon the bike, tire size, etc. Thuleโs direct fork mount options might be a better choice for those uses. Iโm average height and use this for an 18-lb gravel bike on a small SUV. On my Miata, I used a $50 trunk rack for four years several times per week with zero issues. If I needed a roof rack to carry a MTB or heavier bike on a higher SUV, this bike rack is terrible value for money, given the fiddly process for placing the bike on the roof and the propensity for wheel wobble to chew up bearings at high speeds. This rack is good for a very specific use case and while a cheap trunk or lift gate rack might present inconvenient access to cargo with bikes on the rack, itโs substantially better value for money than this.

Very good purchase
It has been in use for almost one year and looks brand new! I leave the rack on the top of my car in the Midwest, which is holding up well. The rack has been exposed to all seasons and shows very little wear. The rack holds my bike well, and I have no worries while driving. I just completed a drive from Indiana to Virginia with my bike and never had an issue. Highly recommend!

Missing end caps from Amazon
Thule is an excellent product. However, I received it missing end caps - since I bought it used from Amazon. On the other hand, Amazon offered me a reimbursement upon buying the end caps from Thule. I am quite pleased with this solution.

Easy install and trust worthy.
Even going 100+ on highways my wheel doesnโt move compared to my friends cheaper rack. I prefer the rack on passenger side of vehicle for easy install of my bike on to that side. Iโm short 5โ-7 can toss my bike on to my golf with ease.
