If you have ever been caught in a datacenter without a power cord with a C14 end...you know how it feels. This will help you out in a pinch to get that one server/switch/router/firewall/laptop powered up. I primarily use it for my laptop to be able to plug my charger into pdu's that dont have nema outlets. Plus, it's helped me out a few times in international datacenters as well as they thankfully had pdu's with cab style outlets.

Bought a new monitor and found monitor has external power supply. Desk was too heavy to move and could not fit plug behind desk. I already had power cord for old monitor ran and would not be using. I needed to adapt the old power cord connection to a outlet. This adapter worked perfectly.

Works perfectly with 120V PDUs.However, make absolutely sure that your equipment is compatible with the voltage that you are connecting it to. This adapter will work on 208V or 240V PDUs, but your equipment needs to be checked before plugging it in. Be extremely careful when connecting equipment to power sources that do not have a neutral connection. e.g. two phases off a three-phase supply. NEMA 5-15 plugs aren't supposed to be connected like that, so in that case you should only use this adapter with equipment that is fully isolated, such as some switching power supplies. Use caution when dealing with equipment where the neutral is somehow exposed, such as lamp fixtures - the neutral on a NEMA 5-15 plug is meant to be at ground potential, and there are appliances out there which are poorly designed that would become energized in certain situations. There are transformers that can "fix" the neutral to ground, or isolate the output completely, but these can have their own hazards as well.That said, this adapter works great when using a fully isolated universal-input laptop charger on 208V power.
