Q: Can these fit in a 4x6 envelope to mail out?

They measure exactly 6.5"x4.5" so probably not. Check the actual dimensions of the envelope to see if there would be wiggle room.

Q: what does the back side of these photo pockets look like?

The back is an opaque black because it's a magnet. Thanks!

Q: Would dry erase markers work on these?

I did try it with the current black dry erase marker I am currently using and it both wrote on them and 5 minutes later, erased with the dry eraser. I tried with an older faded red marker. That wrote ok but didn’t wipe clean with a dry eraser. Used water to remove. Hope that helps.

Q: Are these hard plastic or flimsy plastic?

They are flimsy but put together well. The photos slipped in nicely and didn’t rip the plastic. I am very pleased with them. The magnet on the back is the whole back. Holds well on refrigerator.
