Nice recipe book, not a primer on what they are for and how to use them, no real info for beginners on what each oil does
Nice book of recipes.A quick reference does make me think of a reference of oils and what they do - that information is not in this book.Beginners who want this information will need to look elsewhere. However, it has a lot of good information on how to actually USE your oils that you already have.Got a cold, mix these together and do this or that (dilute with carrier and apply topically, add these to a diffuser, add some to a bowl of warm water and inhale the steam, etc.). In some areas the author could be more clear in exactly what to do ... so if you have absolutely no experience there are better books out there that explain how to do things (things like making master blends to then use to do different things, like put in lotions, or diffuse, or dilute with carrier, or make a room spray out of, or make a compress, etc.).Another thing to be aware of - the author uses Young Living oils and mentions blends that you might not know what are unless you use Young Living oils. There are conversion charts on the internet that identify other brand blends that are equivalent or similar that can assist you so you can find out what the name of your brand's blend it that is similar. The last thing to be aware of - the author uses a lot of really expensive oils (not related to brand, but the oil itself). Not many people who are beginners or even experienced will have all of Rose, Jasmine, Melissa, Neroli, and Sandalwood. Experienced people with oils will have a few of these, some will have all. The author throws them into recipes like they cost $10 each. It would be much more useful for people to give substitutions in the recipe - for example you can substitute Cedarwood for Sandalwood or Benzoin and Cedarwood in equal parts in most recipes. Geranium or Rosewood can be substituted for Rose in most recipes. Bergamot, lemon, lemon verbena, or lemongrass can be substituted for Melissa in most recipes. Bergamot or Ylang Ylang can be substituted for Neroli. Ylang Ylang can also be substituted for Jasmine. In some cases, if you know what the oil is supposed to do in the blend, you can even do without it and not impact the blend for what YOU want to use it for.Regardless, just because the author uses Melissa or something, it doesn't mean you have to go buy it to make that blend. Sure, someday you might want to save up and buy it for $75 per 5 mL (current Plant Therapy cost) or more depending on the brand. But you have options to do otherwise that are not mentioned in this book.

Awesome essential oils recipes
If you are looking for awesome essential oils recipes I highly recommend this awesome guide. I just was looking for recipes for skin and hair care products because I don't want to buy any chemical products anymore which are not good for my skin. I was really impressed by the great selection. I never thought that it is so easy to make your own products. And it is more healthy and less expensive than buying all these chemical products. I wish I had started earlier to make my own healthy products. It is very impressive for what else you can use essential oils. Step by step I will have my own pharmacy at home.

Was disappointed that there was no index so it's a "search and find" edition. Would try the Extended edition before this one. There's a lot of content for animals and children as well.

A must for the oil enthusiast.
I have just started using Essential Oils and this book goes everywhere with me. i like that it is exactly what it said that it is, a quick reference. I have been able to look up a condition and know what to do. I can see why it is a best seller. It has 10 chapters including a chapter on children remedies, pet care as well has the medicinal and perfume chapters.. The book measures 6x9 and is 1/4 inch thick. The pages are a heavy weight which look to be about 32 or 60 wt and 92 bright. The font is easy to read and well spaced. AND Made in The USA.Essential Oils: Recipe Quick Reference: Essential Oils Recipes for All Occasions

Good for the price
This book has lots of recipes, most sound great. Because the author does not explain the benefits of the ingredients, some recipes sound oddly thrown together.
