Q: Will this work with the electro harmonix pitch fork?

Yes, I was using them together for about a year. Works perfectly, just need a standard TRS cable.

Q: Is it only for expression, or will it act as a volume pedal as well?

It does not default to volume expression if you try to randomly plug it into your signal chain. That being said, it will work with Boss/Roland style “tip hot” expression inputs. It’s true value comes when used with any Source Audio pedal. When used with SA pedals, you can adjust volume, and or, any dial options and or multiple options on the pedal. If you’re not invested in the SA ecosystem, buy a Boss or Ernie Ball.

Q: Does this require a balanced TRS cable?

Yes, and it came with one that is about 3ft long. Although it will control two pedals, so it would have been nice if it came with two.
