Chicago Comb Model 1 Standard, Stainless Steel, 5.5 in. (14 cm) long, Pocket and Travel comb, Made in USA

This "Chicago Comb Model 1 Standard" is an excellent pocket comb in stainless steel. The stainless construction is durable and resistant to bending even if sat on in a back pocket, and the 4" length is about as large as I would recommend for pocket carry or stowage in a briefcase for travel. The teeth are nicely smoothed and their medium spacing is ideal for thick hair: tight enough to groom effectively, but loose enough not to grab or tug the hair the way fine-tooth combs can do. My only criticisms are that I think the comb would feel nicer if the metal had a smoother high-polished finish (the brushed finish feels a little grabby or chalky, though it runs through hair plenty smoothly) and it's also heavier than expected. It's not heavy per se--probably about the weight of four quarters--but it's noticeably heavier than comparably sized plastic combs. I had expected it to be less substantial. Of course, the heft also makes it stiff and durable, so it's a trade off you might prefer. If you're looking for an ultra light solution, though, you may want to look for titanium instead--if you can justify the added cost, which I can't. In my case, I'll likely carry this in my briefcase or keep it in my desk at work instead of carrying it frequently in a pocket as I had originally envisioned. Had I know that, I could've been content with a cheaper plastic comb as well. I only went with stainless steel because I wanted something durable that wouldn't break my pocket. Whatever. It gets the job done and is a nice comb.

Great weight. I've had dozens of wooden combs, all broken. I've carried this every day for months next to my wallet and pocket knife still just like new. I carry it vertically at the back of my right hand front pocket, so I added a Paracord lanyard to help retrieve it. It works well in my beard and hair.

Honestly the best and most rugged comb I have ever owned. Most metal combs are thin and flimsy. This one is not. I am definitely buying another one soon!!!

I don't like the way this comb looks. I do love the way my hair looks after I use this comb. No snags, no irritation, just outstanding results, with or without styling products.You can buy a basic plastic comb for 1/10th the price, but I would argue this comb is indeed 10 times better, maybe even more.

Bought my first of these years ago. Bought one for my son and a 2nd one for myself recently. High quality, Made In USA. Get one!
