Cracked Pepper Beef & Pork Sticks 24OZ (24-1.0 OZ sticks)

These are the best tasting of all Vermont Smoke&C's meat sticks. They have just a touch of heat in the form of the black pepper, and the only con to that is that occasionally a piece of pepper gets stuck in my teeth and hours later resurfaces, to remind me of the spice. But I don't mind this so much. I haven't seen any of the sliminess mentioned by other users. These are the same freshness and quality as the ones I buy from my local organic store that takes my whole paycheck. The sticks are soft, and remind me very much of Landjaeger sticks from my local German butcher.However, watch the price. This flavor in particular is routinely outrageously expensive - at least $10.00 USD more expensive than the other flavors, for the same number of meat sticks. Sometimes you're just better off spending the gas money and buying these at the store yourself if you live near one (at least my local crunchy non-gmo store gives you a discount for buying a full box). Keep the handy cardboard display box you get from this, because you can use it when you buy refills locally

these are the best of all of the beef sticks I have purchased and I have tasted them all. I decided to buy these by the box as they charge $1.99 each at the store-These taste great and are the go to food when I return from the gym early in the morning. There is no after taste and they do not have that oil/greasy taste that so many of them have. I always have these in my briefcase for a pick me up during the day and am happy that I can get them at least a little cheaper than the store charges.

I try to eat a lower carb "paleo" diet and beef jerky/snacks are easy "to go" meals/snacks. Making my own beef jerky is relatively easy and probably the best option, but I eat it so fast that I can't keep up with myself.Real Sticks, while still relatively expensive, seem to be the best value in the real food beef stick realm. Comparable snacks seem to be about $35+ for 20 or $25 for 12, etc., whereas these are $30 for 24. The Cracked Pepper flavor is my favorite and they are much better than some other brands I have tried. I highly recommend them.

I've been on a beef jerky kick lately, trying out various brands. I thought I'd try this beef and pork stick to see how it compares. From the very first bite, I was pleasantly surprised. The meat is tender, and it has a delicious smoky flavor. The package that I received had a Best Buy date that was eight months from the time of purchase. I'll be surprised if they last eight days. The fact that the meat is free of MSG and nitrates makes it that much better!

I eat beef jerky almost every day and this is my favorite. The flavor is great and it is very low in carbohydrates (some jerkys use lots of sugar to get a good taste). The packaging makes this very convenient. I can keep them at work, in my work bag and at home so they are always available for a quick snack. Whenever I travel, these always come in my carry on.

not sure what changed between this batch versus the last batch I received? The sticks appear shinier on this one and the taste is substantially worse.

These are really tasty and are the perfect snack for being on the go, on an airplane etc. I particularly like the cracked pepper but the barbecue is tasty as well. I agree with the previous reviewer. Buying them in bulk is much less expensive than one by one at whole foods. Thanks for a great product for us gluten free folks.
