Nutrition and Diagnosis-Related Care

I purchased this book on a recommendation for my clinical rotation during my Dietetic Internship. I couldn't be happier with this book - there are a ton of example PES statements included for various disease states. I will be referencing this book for years to come. This is an absolute must for future and current RDs!

This and any book by this author is excellent. I've used this as an almost daily reference in many different positions in the Nutrition field over the years. It does exactly what it promises. Each diagnosisis presented with thorough consideration of clinical picture, labs, nutrition care plan, alternative medicine, patient needs and appropriate approach to treatment.It serves as a great checklist for any diagnosis. In doing so, it assists each RDN in providing thorough, accurate care. This author is a nutrition expert with an excellent , organized, understandable, practical resource which belongs in every RDN's well worn resource file.Thank you,

I've only read through the last 3 chapters, but what I've read I've really enjoyed. I've been out of the clinical world for 10 years homeschooling my kids during numerous army moves with my hubby. This was just the book to refresh myself. It's easy to read and the numerous charts and figures nicely break up the potential monotony of a typical text book. They make it easy to do a quick search for important issues. It's user friendly to the eyes.

One of my all-time favorite references. Glad they keep updating it to ensure info is up to date. Perfect for those needing a desk reference if working in a clinical environment with diversity of diagnosis. Helps you ensure you don't forget any of the possible ways to help patients. LOVE this book.

I was first introduced to this book in the late 1990’s (unable to recall edition number), as an acute care dietitian, & I quickly added it to my library. I have since enthusiastically shared this book with my new nutrition colleagues & dietetic interns. I believe I might have even influenced a NC nutrition program to include it in their curriculum? I’m now working as an outpatient dietitian & this book continues to be an outstanding resource. It is my entire nutrition education in a single book.

Great format, pictures, diagrams, and easy to read! I wish this was required in my undergrad, now I purchased for my upcoming RD internship because of the good reviews. Content is 5 stars but I do wish it was hardcover since it is textbook size and I have already damaged the cover with moderate use. I might try to laminate the covers to add some reinforcement.

Melhor livro de nutrição. Ótimo para atendimento ambulatorial e clínica também. Indicado para estudantes e profissionais mais experientes. Bem ilustrado, lista de exames, aborda os aspectos da nutrição de muitas patologias.

I am working as a nutritionist but I want to get into dietetics because I want to fulfil my life with real nutritional science. This book gives me a great overview of the nature of this profession. Also, the information is very useful and practical for my everyday life (yes, I have to eat food). I just wished that the author put some more details on synergistic and antagonistic interactions among all nutrients that affect bioavailability.

I really enjoy this book as a dietitian. Has a lot of useful information particularly for disease states that one might not work with all the time.
