There is always hope. Northern France is a frozen morass of mud and snow across which rampages a horde of the undead, a hundred million strong. That won’t stop Chester Carson and his comrades. Seeking a way across the Channel, they make for the coast, unaware that Britain has been abandoned, Belfast is a ruin, and that radiation is seeping into the Irish Sea. If they knew, that wouldn’t stop them either. They’re on a quest to save their family, their friends, and humanity itself; failure is not an option. As they journey through war-ravaged ports and storm-wrecked beaches, a new truth becomes clear. The flotilla that found refuge on Anglesey wasn’t the only group of sea-borne refugees to have survived the outbreak. There are other survivors. Some good, some evil, some just determined to do their duty no matter the cost. Danger lurks along the French and Belgian coasts. So do answers, and hope that humanity now has a future. Review: Great series of books. - I love that they are safe for now. I love these characters. This series has me hooked. It would be nice if they had a time jump a few years to see if they were growing crops, etc. Review: Frank Tayell Does It Again - My journey through this book series continues to pay off. This book is really the other side of the coin from Book 14. The way the author intermeshes the two stories, while introduces new plot elements and characters that give us fodder for future books, is exceptional. He progresses the primary plot, character growth, and all while teasing us with more to come. A great, refreshing zombie apocalypse series got another great chapter with this book!

Not Much Of A Holiday
I love that FINALLY the main characters joined forces! It excites me that the books are moving out into more of the ruined world looking for others.

Can’t wait for 16
I have been addicted to this series since I found it. It’s a post apocalyptic world that is presented in a believable manner. It is not the usual male egocentric tactical fantasy with one dimensional females. Refreshing!

Good series
Don’t think these books ever end! I enjoy reading them, but if you’re looking for a single read book or a shorter series this isn’t for you.

Fantastic
Great story even if it is book 15. Can't wait to read the next book. Likeable characters and easy to get lost in reading the book.

Great series of books
Surviving the Evacuation Ok, right up front this isn’t a single book review I’m reviewing the whole saga that is ‘Surviving the Evacuation’. I’m retired with plenty of time on my hands and like to read books that form a series rather than just individual stories. I admit that having finished reading the 20 books, so far, in the series I went back to book 1 and started reading the series for a second time enjoying it just as much as I did the first time. First off, this is one of the best series of books I have read and I read a lot in the post-apocalyptic genre. Normally I would avoid books about zombies but this series isn’t really about zombies although they are the focus of the problems the characters have in their survival. It’s about surviving in a post-apocalyptic world and all the problems that that entails. What is refreshing in this series is that women play a major role in the leadership, decision making and the fighting. I’m desperately trying not to put any spoiler’s in this review so it won’t be an in-depth review of the individual stories. Basically the story starts in England and then travels across continents. What I like is that the author will track what happens to individuals as they venture into the wastelands but he also keeps track of what is happening back at where the main body of the survivors are currently based. There’s plenty of action fighting the zombies, corrupt government officials, a criminal cartel and survival itself. One thing, you have to leave reality behind you are stepping off the reality bus when you read a book about zombies. Yes, you can look at what the characters in the book do and say to yourself they wouldn’t do that or they should’ve done this or this just wouldn’t happen. This isn’t a ‘Surviving the Apocalypse book for Dummies’ so don’t expect the characters to act or do things that people would do in the real world. This series of books are simply a good read and I’m looking forward to reading the continuation of the stories that the author has started in the books. There is still a long way for the survivors to go and I hope the author is up to the journey.

Brilliant as usual.
Loved Where there's hope, a great follow up to the previous 14 books. Can't wait until the next book is released. Well done Frank Tayell for keeping to your usual hugh standard after so many books. Bring on No. 16.

doesn’t disappoint
I’ve enjoyed these books since the first, and this is no exception. I’m a sucker for a post apocalyptic story, but this story has kept me engaged with new characters being introduced along the way, each of their stories adding to the tale, but never detracting from the core story.

Great series of books read them all
15 books in and am still hooked - this is a sign of a good book(s)! I read a lot of post apocalyptic books/zombie books and this series is right up there at the top. Great characters who you actually care about, interesting storylines and the right mix of action and adventure- can't wait till the next book and will shed a tear when the series ends!
