Fabriano Studio Watercolor Pad, Hot-Press, 9" x 12", 140 lb., 50 Sheets, White

This is quality watercolor paper. I use it for cyanotype printing and it holds up really well to the heavy rinsing required. The prints look beautiful, too. I use it sparingly as it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. If I'm printing something for a customer, this is what I'd use.

This is not my first time purchasing Fabriano Hot Press Watercolor paper. I had never heard of hot press until I saw a crafter using it in a video. I love to do watercolor and had always used the super good cold press paper, but sometimes if I used a stamp I had to stamp it up to 4 times to get a good impression. With hot press paper you just stamp once and then watercolor. The paper can take quite a bit of paint and water which surprised me. It is also amazing for ink blending. I take my finished projects and turn them into cards. This paper also cuts very easily with my paper trimmer. This is the ‘good stuff’ and is worth the price for me. After putting the work in on a project I dont want it to just be ‘OK’. I want it to look spectacular and that is what this paper gives me. I will keep purchasing this from Amazon as it is a good price and quality paper. I wish people had told me long ago that ‘Paper Matters’!! Because it does.

I’m quite choosy with paper. I usually use Arches, but wanted to try a pad that had more sheets in it as I’m practicing using gouache. I also usually use cold press as I’ve found hot press to be not as good at handling water. Well this pad has me hooked! It’s hot press, and handled the water very well! It’s also did not tear when I pulled the tape off of the edges after painting. 50 sheets a really great price, paper is great, and I’ve now got a pad that I can use daily without worrying about needing to dump more money into paper in a week or two.

This arrived dirty and crushed up. Not the best way to ship art paper. Also, just fyi this is cellulose paper, it is very smooth and feels a bit like cardstock. I was going to return it initially but then I decided to test some of the damaged pages with charcoal and gouache just to see how it handles them. Now I'm keeping it because it has a nice smooth but grippy surface for charcoal, and gouache glides across it. Even regular watercolor and watercolor pencils with a water brush don't seem to make it buckle or act finicky. It's not typical 100% cotton watercolor paper but I'm looking forward to trying new combinations of mixed media with it!

This is the first hot pressed paper I've tried, normally I use cold pressed, and I'm blown away by the performance. It handles water so nicely, you can really go hard with the water and it doesn't warp like the cold pressed does, very minimal if any. It's so smooth to paint on, doing line work is like a dream. It's thinner than cold pressed, and the colors look amazing on it. It did get shipped with a few of the corners bent, but not as much as other people Said in their reviews, so I'm grateful for that. I will definitely repurchase. Highly recommend for people who use Gouache or watercolor.

This paper is really good. Been using it for a while now. It does warp a little when it starts to dry, but then it flattens itself back out.

I use this paper for my some of my calligraphy projects. It has a texture that looks very nice (although the texture requires a bit of care with my pen, but I knew that before I bought it). This paper is very absorbent (which means that my fine lines do not “feather”, they remain sharp. This is a big deal to calligraphers, because lots of our lettering is very precise and different elements of out letters and flourishing can be very close together. If the paper causes the lines to feather or bleed into each other, the piece is ruined. This paper is great for preventing this. It’s nice and thick (140 lb). Highly recommend.

Really disappointed with this product Seems to dry irregular with "watermarks" Have used very basic lightweight sketch book quality that's per formed better certainly not worth the extra money

I wanted a WC paper I could use with my printer.... someone else reviewed it. It is smooth and hopefully will not jam. I actually have not tried it yet - but will update.

Really good hot press paper for watercolour. Very happy with it.
