Review: How Do You Analyze Coffee? - These fit perfectly into my Cuizinart SS-780 Keurig type brewer and this was my first time trying both Fog Chaser and the "earth friendly solution" cup, which as others have mentioned is a cross between a K-cup and a pod. I have to say that I'm in love with both! I love the fact there there is less plastic and waste for this hybrid cup. I love the fact that the first cup tastes just as good as the 12th, since I roll the top over on the plastic bag they are in, and then put a clip on it. Since coffee beans have a lot of "oil" in them, and it's this coffee bean oil that can really alter the taste of the coffee as it ages and/or if it goes rancid. Coffee tastes best the closer it is brewed to the roasting it, and I have noticed a difference between my k-cups that are newer, verses the ones that are much older; I like a huge selection for my daily coffee but I have scaled back a lot for this reason, taste is a HUGE factor for me and my coffee love! So the next logical question is how does this taste? As I mentioned, I like a variety of coffee: bold, mild, flavored, etc., and again as I've also said, I love this coffee, so I wondered what I could add to most of the reviews here? I decided I could explain how coffee is analyzed: Acidity: This is what you taste at the tip of your tongue, a pleasant sharp taste or bite in the mouth. A 'snap' or 'tingle', the darker the roast, the less acidity in the coffee. This isn't to be confused with bitterness The 3 options are "desirable", "sour" and "process". Body: The weight of the coffee physically in the mouth. Rich, full feeling at the back of the palate. Body tends to increase in the darker roasts. Aroma: The scent Finish: aftertaste that lingers Flavour: Is it memorable, well balanced, woody, caramel, chocolaty, fragrant, fruity, ripe, sweet, almondy, delicate, piquant, etc. Of course, there is a lot more to coffee, because coffee is greatly influenced by the soil and conditions that it is grown in, and some general statements about where a coffee is grown are: South/Central Americas = medium body/medium acidity Africa = low body/high acidity Indonesia = high body/low acidity There is single origin bean coffee, but also blended, using multiple types of beans grown in different areas. Different coffee beans are blended with other coffee beans, in order to bring out the best or chosen flavors of the end coffee. Another factor is how it is roasted, because roasting changes the chemical and physical properties of the beans into caramelized and aromatic coffee. Another factor is the roasting temperature, as well as how long it is roasted, in order to bring out the best flavors of the coffee. You can't just simply dark roast anything, because it may turn out very bitter. In general, the less roasting, the more you taste the conditions that the beans were grown in and it flavors that this process produced. It also stands to reason that the more the coffee is roasted, the more you can taste the roasted flavor (called carbon), much like roasting marshmallows, you've got very burned (and very burned flavor) down to where the flame has hardly touched it, leaving most of the original flavor of the marshmallow. That said, Fog Chaser is a blend of high-grown Central and South American coffees that are full city roasted (meaning darker roasted), medium bodied (full bodied means that you taste it equally in the different taste areas of the tongue: sweet, salty, sour or bitter) and acidic (much like having a soda with caffeine, versus the same caffeine free, it's that bite that gets your attention), yet it is also smooth, with little bitter aftertaste, which isn't to say that you won't taste it after drinking the coffee, but that it doesn't leave a bitter taste in your mouth. This is a bold coffee, that is rich (the intensity that indicates the gases and vapors which have an interesting fullness) and fresh (meaning vivid and aromatic). This coffee has easily taken 1st place in my favorites list!
Review: Great Cup Of Joe! - I am a rather late comer to the K-cup world. I have always loved my the flavorful and bold 'one cup at a time' coffee faithfully brewed by my cherished Gaggia 90501 Titanium SS Super Automatic Espresso and Cappuccino Machine, Stainless Steel . After six years of faithful service my Gaggia developed an issue requiring it to be sent off for repair, so I purchased a Breville BKC700XL Gourmet Single-Serve Coffeemaker with Iced-Beverage Function . The Breville is intended to be an interim coffee maker while my beloved Italian Gaggia is sent off for repairs (a 3 month endeavor). I don't think of myself as a coffee snob, but I will admit to being particular about the coffee I drink. I was now faced with the challenge of finding some of my favorite coffees in the new to me K-Cup containers. As I came to the realization that my old favorite beans were not readily available in this medium I turned to desertcart buyer ratings as my guide in this java quest. I placed orders for both Emeril's Big Easy Bold 48 K-Cups and San Francisco Bay Coffee One Cup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, Breakfast Blend, 80-Count as a starting point. The SFB Breakfast Blend arrived first. I read all about the Rogers SF Bay family coffee business philosophy and their social give back and thought it was pretty cool. I then looked at their K-cups (OneCups) and thought to myself, "is that how these things are supposed to look?" Their OneCups take a more Eco-friendly construction approach so that you see a rounded filter bottom rather than the standard shaped plastic cup bottom. It all seemed interesting, but how would it taste? I thought the Breakfast Blend was really a lovely cup of coffee. The smooth medium-dark roast Central and South American beans are very tasty indeed! I would venture to say that it is on par with any of the very best medium-dark roast coffees available. I would never turn my nose up at it, that is certain. However my personal pallet preference is for something a bit more dark and bold. Three days later I received the Emeril's Big Easy Bold order and immediately tried it. It certainly delivered on all aspects of a robust dark roast with full flavor. It is a bold, dark, classic Parisian roast, in your face brew, just the way I like it. However I find it to have an ever so slight unpleasant aftertaste and a not too far away from, but not quite there bitter finish. Again this is just according to my palette, you may not think so. All in all it is a very good coffee. The SFB Fog Chaser arrived and I couldn't wait to try it out. I cut the seal on bag and was hit with the scent of a strong dark roast. I placed the now familiar OneCup container in the machine and hit brew. Immediately the aromas hit my nose and let me know that I was in for a treat. Fog Chaser is a strong full bodied French Roast with an extremely smooth finish. It is certainly bolder than Breakfast Blend, but is not as bold as Emeril's Big Easy Bold. The taste is full, smooth and well rounded without any unpleasant bitterness or aftertaste at all. I wouldn't have minded if the yield had been slightly stronger though. My next order will be San Francisco Bay Coffee One Cup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, French Roast, 36-Count to see how it compares to these three. Until that time, I give SFB Fog Chaser two big thumbs up!! It is currently at the top of my K-cup coffee taste experience.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ my go to coffee pods
*by K***A on September 25, 2026*

i’ve tried a lot of different coffee pods. I’m a black coffee drinker and have been for the last 50 years, so I like coffee that has a nice taste, with no aftertaste and no bitterness. And these coffee pods are great, and I like the fact that they’re all biodegradable.
