The highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster— now a major motion picture! Can you love someone too much? Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder. In Walking Disaster , the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees. Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster , Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes. Review: This Is One Ride You Don't Want to Miss!!! - Walking Disaster, for the most part is the same story as Beautiful Disaster, just told through Travis' point of view, instead of Abby's point of view this time. One of the reasons why I enjoyed reading Travis' point of view was because a few of the gaps were filled in for me in the story. We got to see a small glimpse into what Travis' mother was like, how much she loved Trav, how close he was to his mom, and how she really was the glue that held their family together. The beginning of the story had me an emotional mess. I was crying, and my heart just broke for what the whole family had to go through with the loss of their mother/wife. After her passing, the whole family was lost, in so much pain, and had trouble moving forward in their lives. So just that little glimpse made me see how the family was before, and then after her passing, which we didn't get to see in Beautiful Disaster. Also, I got to see a lot more of Travis' brothers, Thomas (the eldest), Trenton (closest to Travis), the twins, Taylor, and Tyler, and Travis' father, Jim. It was one thing to hear about how close they were in Beautiful Disaster, but a whole new take to get to see how close Travis was to his brothers', and father. Trent was my favorite brother. He was always there for Travis, when Travis needed him most. Trent would call to check-up on Travis, would take him to the bar for drinks as a source of distraction, was a good listener, was the only one who could force Travis to leave the house when he was in a deep depression, and would drive Travis home when he was drunk. We also got to meet the girl that Trent was interested in, for 2 small scenes, and I'm really looking forward to reading Trent's story next. Thomas, was the serious, and overprotective older brother. His mother made him promise to look after his younger brothers' and father when she passed. He kept that promise, grew up too fast, and was more like a second father figure to his brothers. Another reason I enjoyed reading Walking Disaster, was because I liked getting inside Travis' head, and by being exposed to Travis' thoughts, and emotions, I was able to understand his actions more. In Beautiful Disaster, Travis appeared to have major anger issues, jealousy, and possessiveness. However, in Walking Disaster, I was able to come to the realization that Travis really was trying to control his anger, and understood a little more that the reason he would get so angry at times was because he was privy to rumors and other information that he didn't share with Abby, that would make his anger come out full-force. Also, he was insecure, desperate, and really loved Abby, but was always scared that if he did or said the wrong thing, Abby would leave him for good. Little did Abby know, but she gave Travis something back that he had lost, when his mother had died, at such a young age. Abby gave Travis a sense of belonging, loving, caring, and the feeling of "home." With Abby, he had finally found a woman worth fighting for, and he knew that his mother would have loved her, and been proud of him for keeping his promise. I enjoyed re-reading the plot, and getting to revisit one of my favorite books. The story started out at a good pace, the middle slowed down a bit and got a little tiring with so much arguing back and forth. Also, Abby irritated me more in this version of the story, because I felt like she was too hard on Travis at times, was too stubborn, and kept putting her walls up, when she should have tried to work things out with him. For being so in love with Travis, it frustrated me that she would leave him without trying to talk things through, and he always had to beg her to come back to him. America and Shep were good friends to Abby and Travis, and I enjoyed revisiting them, and their relationship with the main characters, as well as one another. However, my favorite parts to revisit were the hot, and sexy drool-worthy scenes between Abby and Travis! Talk about needing to fan yourself off to cool down! Plus, my heart got to melt all over again every time Travis would tell Abby how he felt about her, or thought about what she meant to him! There were a lot of moments that I would go "Aww, that's why I loved Beautiful Disaster!" I thought the ending was really fast-paced, and it was my favorite part of the book. Who doesn't love a Happily Ever After? After finishing Walking Disaster, I'm left satisfied with the closure that I feel from getting exposed to meeting Travis' mother, learning more about his brothers, father, and getting a more well-rounded view of Travis as a whole. I am stoked to get to read each of Travis' brothers own story, and look forward to not having to completely close the door on Travis and Abby. By the end of the story, I was able to see the huge character growth that both Travis and Abby made individually, and in their relationship. The ending was bittersweet for me, as I had to say goodbye for now to Travis and Abby, because at least I got to see how everything ended, and can hope that I will see them again when I read all of the Maddox brothers' stories. Yes, I said when, not if, because, Thomas, Trent, Taylor, and Tyler's stories have just been officially added to my auto-buy list! I give Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire a Sizzling, Swoon-Worthy, Sexy, Sensational 5 Stars! If you want more Travis, and to see into the window of his soul, including his thoughts, emotions, and fears, read this story! If you don't mind reading the retelling of Beautiful Disaster, but through Travis' point of view, and therefore, containing all of Travis' intensity, emotion, and way of life, this is a great read that will have you escaping back into Travis and Abby's roller-coaster relationship, full of constant ups, downs, twists, and turns! Review: Nothing Compares to the Amazingness in Travis Maddox's Head - 5+++ "Never...stop fighting for what you want" Kisses! How to sum up my feelings right now... There are some book boyfriends you can never forget...ever. They're untouchable. They stick with you, ingrained in your brain forever. Not that you love any of the new book boyfriends less, but there is just a certain piece of your heart that is "theirs"...forever. Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox is one of those book boyfriends. "I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along. A pigeon. The kind of soul that didn't impede on anyone just walked around worrying about its own business, trying to get through life without puling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits. Brave. A communicator. Intelligent. Beautiful. Soft-spoken. A creature that mates for life. Unattainable until she has a reason to trust you." Nothing can prepare you for the awesomeness that is being inside Travis Maddox's head. Nothing. It's better than you could ever imagine. Knowing his thoughts, his feelings, his reactions to certain events...It. Means. So. Much. More. I knew he loved Abby in Beautiful Disaster - there was no doubt in my mind, but getting to see it from his eyes, feel it from his heart....OMG, words fail me. "After spending sixty seconds in the pigeon's presence, I discerned two things: she didn't talk much, and when she did she was kind of a b****. But I don't know...I kind of dug that about her. She put on a front to keep a******* like me away, but that made me even more determined." You can't read Walking Disaster without reading Beautiful Disaster first, it just wouldn't make sense - but that's okay...it's your lucky day, cause you get double the Travis love. Some might say that's over doing it - to them I say, excuse me? Did we read the same book...because "there is too much Travis Maddox" should never come out of anyone's mouth. Ever. I'm sorry, I was like a kid in a candy store with this book. "It bothered me that she might think I was a piece of s***, but it bothered me more that I cared." So if you've read BD, you know the story thru Abby's eyes. You would think there wouldn't be any surprises, you know what's coming. HA! Fooled you. Was it a little redundant - sure. You're reading the same events you've already read once...but it's through his eyes. It changed everything for me. I didn't mind that it was the same story, I felt the change in the POV justified the book 100%. I loved being in his brain. It really shed a lot of light on the story for me. "She didn't hate me. She just wanted to hate me. I was way ahead of her. If she wanted to play, I could play." I have to be honest, I was not expecting the prologue...at all. I was bawling by the second line - it just absolutely gutted me. You get a glimpse at why Travis is the way he is, his background with his mom, dad and brothers - it rips your heart out SO bad, but it's worth it. "First, it's okay to be sad. It's okay to feel things. Remember that. Second, be a kid for as long as you can. Play games, Travis. Be silly...and you and your brothers take care of each other, and your father. Even when you grow up and move away, it's important to come home. Okay?...One of these days you're going to fall in love, son. Don't settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn't come easy; the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never...stop fighting for what you want. And never...forget that Mommy loves you. Even if you can't see me." A tear fell down her cheek. "I will always love you." Done. Gutted. Tears everywhere. Couldn't stop crying. For anyone who has ever lost a parent - let alone lost a parent when they were at a young age - I can't even imagine. The emotions that were flowing through the first seven clicks on my kindle just bled through my heart and fueled me on to want to know Travis that much more. That one line "Never...stop fighting for what you want." - hello? Define Travis Maddox much? "It sucks that I finally found the girl worth having and she's too good for me." What else did I love...I loved the fight with America and Shepley - FINALLY getting to understand what the fight was all about. I loved the poker game with his brothers and dad. I love seeing more of his brothers and dad - all that male bonding stuff, it's just so freaking heartwarming. And as much as it killed me, hearing his thoughts whenever she left him (every time she left him unfortunately) - knowing his pain, his sadness, but still his determination. I think the part I loved to hate for WD is the same for BD - the scene at his dad's house over Thanksgiving. When she is ready to give in and he's finally letting her go. Breaks my heart every time. "I shook my head, stunned. If there was anything else I could do to keep her from thinking that, I didn't know what it was. She was special to me from the second I laid eyes on her, and I tried to let her know every chance I got. How else could I get that across to her? How much different from everyone else could I treat her?" It hurts to know this is `the end' of Travis and Abby. I'm just as happy, if not more so, with the way WD ended, as I was in BD. Probably more on the more happy side because you get a lot from the epilogue. It through me at first and I had to re-read the beginning because it's a jump - she slowly starts feeding you information and you begin to piece together what is going on, but it is a `Wait, what's going on here??' kind of moment. But even with that, it was still perfect. Insanely perfect. :-) I am thrilled to death about the upcoming books for the other Maddox brothers. No...more than thrilled, elated and excited beyond all rational thought. She gives you just enough of a taste in WD to make you really want to know more. Especially Trent and Thomas...ooooh boy, those two are going to be as equally entertaining as Travis was, I can feel it. I cannot recommend this book enough, and if you are a self-respecting, romance-loving, bad boy craving girl who cannot get enough of alpha male's with tattoo's, motorcycles and some of the most quotable lines I have ever read - stop now and read anything that is related to Travis Maddox. God Bless Jamie McGuire's Brain!

"Walking Disaster proves to me that Travis is from Mars and Abby is from Venus, yet their stars aligned..."
"Walking Disaster proves to me that Travis is from Mars and Abby is from Venus, yet their stars aligned to form this addicting relationship" Atria Books provided me with an ARC copy of this novel in exchange for an open and honest review. Thank you to Atria and Jamie McGuire for this opportunity. Walking Disaster is a companion novel to Ms. McGuire's smash hit Beautiful Disaster. I point this out at the beginning because of all the grumblings I have heard about it not being more of a continuation of the previous story. To continue the story of Beautiful Disaster, you would have to write a sequel. Ms. McGuire has made it clear from the beginning this was NOT a sequel. So set your expectations properly for Walking Disaster and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. If you haven't already read Beautiful Disaster, I highly recommend that you do. There are certain scenes in this novel which will come up sorely lacking if you haven't read them before. In Beautiful Disaster, you watched a romance unfurl, cave in on itself, rip into shreds and then pick itself up, realign and morph into the romance as seen through Abby's eyes. Granted, Travis and Abby have some serious issues and are completely dysfunctional, but it works for them-and it makes for a GREAT story. In Walking Disaster, however, Ms. McGuire manages to write from Travis's perspective without it feeling contrived in any way. Right from the first pages, I was drawn to the male perspective and never once questioned whether or not this was a MAN talking. I really enjoyed seeing the same scenes but through Travis's eyes. As always, Ms. McGuire shows her phenomenal adeptness at writing prose in any format without ever leaving you unfulfilled and always reeling from the magic she weaves with her tales. The prologue is gut wrenching. Period. It is such an incredible peek into Travis's psyche-it's truly genius. While it may not explain why he is so broken and twisted, it certainly explains what he is waiting for in life and what he has missed all these years. Travis is a man searching; for his soul, for fulfillment, for peace and for someone he doesn't believe exists. What he finds with Abby is instantaneous, it's explosive and it's all-consuming. In this story, you will finally find answers you were searching for regarding how the threads of his history weave the man Travis has become. We get a glimpse at the Maddox men in the prologue and start to get a sense of how their tight-knit clan will develop when faced with heartache. Luckily, we get to keep visiting with them and experiencing the scenes we didn't see and the interactions we didn't feel when we followed Abby as she walked away and left Travis alone. While each member has their own issues and complications, the bond they share is undeniably a wonderful thing to be a part of. We never knew how they all banded around Travis each and every time he needed them-but we loved them anyway. I am highly anticipating when Ms. McGuire writes their individual stories. Women tend to be fickle and apparently I am no exception. Travis bears his soul and shows such vulnerability in Walking Disaster that I found myself beginning to wish I hadn't asked to be inside his head. In my opinion, he started to lose his masculinity once he started opening up his heart publicly. Where was the Travis Maddox I came to know and adore as the bad boy? The fighter, the bruiser, the tough guy....the tears? Come on, really? Travis Maddox doesn't cry! I know, fickle, right? You can't please me-and lots of other women like me. We say we want to know what men are thinking and feeling, but then they lose their man card in our eyes when they appease us. Sorry Travis, but this affected my overall feeling about the book. Walking Disaster answers all those questions you were left with about Abby and Travis's future. It's wonderful to find such closure and happiness through this story. You had to live through Travis's head and heart the way you did with Abby's to understand the future and what it holds for the pair. It was also wonderful to get to know America and Shelpley more. I was shocked to find out the depth of loyalty America had for Travis as Beautiful Disaster never hinted at that. She almost won Travis's man card back...almost. The combination of these two books makes for one amazing story of heartache and loss, anger and love, devotion and betrayal, loyalty and devastation and a strength borne only from individuals who have faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles and lived to find faith again. When an author can grab my attention in the first few lines of their novel, I am intrigued. When they can continue to keep me vested in not only the plot line but also the characters and their development, I am shocked. When they can write a companion book and still keep me engaged, they have become a legend. Jamie McGuire may very well have reached legendary status with this compilation of books. As always, I can't wait to experience where her writing takes me next... + Seeing Travis at an innocent age with his mother was inspiring + Personal histories I actually felt on such a deep emotional level + So much angst and upheaval you never get comfortable or bored with this relationship - Travis revealed too many tender feelings and depth of character to remain "hard-core" in my eyes - If you hadn't read Beautiful Disaster, you would be quite confused by this story ??? When do we get to read about Trent ??? -Just My Opinion books.mommysopinion.com FB: justmyopinionnh T: @JustmyopinionNH

Do you LOVE Travis Maddox?? Then you will SWOOON over this BOOK
HOLY HOT COVER!.. I seriously want to lick that butterfly...oh YUM-FesT!! This is the second installment of Beautiful Disaster, also written by the talented Jamie McGuire but told from Travis Maddox's POV. You will have to read Beautiful Disaster before reading this one. A lot of people are mad because Jamie McGuire didn't write another book she just wrote the same book told in a different view and some did not want to read the second one when they already know what happened from the first book. Let me put your hesitations to rest and let you know that you WILL want to be inside Travis' head. I just spent two days being inside the mind of Travis Maddox and it was AMAZING. The two books ARE NOT completely the same, yeah a lot of the dialogue between Abby and Travis are the same, but Travis had his own life outside of Abby and you get to see what he thought about everything and fall in love with the story all over again, I know I did!! This book started off with Travis' memory of when he lost his mom. This sets the mindset of the book and you begin to understand the boy inside the man that is Travis Maddox. His mom told him from the very beginning to find a love that you have to FIGHT for because if it is too easy then it won't be worth it... Could that describe the Abby/Travis relationship any more perfectly???? I LOVED/ADORED this book, I think I even loved it more than the first one. We get to see why Travis did the things he did, saw the love from him and his family, and how amazing they are through his eyes. There were a couple scenes that brought tears to my eyes from the amount of love that was between Travis and his father. When I first read Beautiful Disaster I never understood the family dynamics between Travis, his brothers, and his dad. I thought they all just beat the crap out of each other and his dad was just a mean drunk until they had Thanksgiving dinner in Beautiful Disaster, then I was even more confused. Walking Disaster finally settled that for me and I was in awe of all of them. I was in love even more with Travis and loved his family just as much! So glad Jamie McGuire is writing about his brothers now, I will definitely be getting those as well!! Travis and Abby's relationship was still just as dramatic as the first book, you are still frustrated with both of them but this time you get to see what Travis was thinking the whole time and every scene that Travis was fighting for Abby in Beautiful Disaster, you get to see exactly what was going through his mind during it. You get more of an insight on his feelings for her and you will love/swoon all over him after reading it. There are some new twists that McGuire threw in there and they were unexpected but awesome! I can't tell you what they are of course, but they just add to the magic of this story! Not only did I get to love Travis and Abby again, I got to fall in love with the other characters as well. Shep and America were a lot more prominent in Travis' life than I originally thought and it was a pleasant surprise. BUT.. The best part about this book was the EPILOGUE!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you get an EPILOGUE and it is beyond words how amazing it is. Everything is brought full circle and it ended beautifully! I Laughed, I cried, I re-lived one of my favorite books through Travis' eyes and I am in complete love/awe with this book.

Great sequel.
You know when you've been waiting for a sequel for so long, you get it and well, it's just so disappointing? Yeah? Don't worry, this wasn't one of them. It was just SO good, great, fantastic, addicting.. you name it. I read Beautiful Disaster a handful of times and fell in love with Travis and Abby's story. There wasn't anything I would have changed about the story, only that I wish I had more of it! So going in to Travis' book I could almost rest easy. I knew it was going to be tough, I new the road to their HAE was a bumpy one, but I also knew I was going to enjoy it all the same. And enjoy it I did. We all know the story like the back of our hands but I was so excited to be able to see it all through Travis' eyes, a long with some scenes that we hadn't previously been shown. My heart broke for Travis countless times. Starting right at the beginning with the prologue; Travis' last conversation with his mum just reduced me to tears. But that conversation led to Travis having one hell of a motto for his life.. "Play. Visit dad. Fight for what I love." His internal struggles of not feeling good enough for Abby were constantly in his mind, it was painful to witness. "It just sucks that I'd finally found the girl worth having and she's too good for me." and even towards the end when he thought he had lost Abby for good. All of these things we knew had happened, we knew they were painful and ugly but I hadn't been quite prepared enough for just how torn up Travis was. description I was glued to the story from the beginning to the end and just didn't ever want it to end. I was worried that my favourite scenes or quotes would have been left out, or that I wouldn't have felt the same seeing them through Travis' eyes but I had nothing to worry about. It was all just so perfect. I am so sad that it's over but SO freaking happy that I had the chance to experience it. And that ending.. Holy. Freaking. Epilogue. I am a sucker for a good epilogue. I love to see far in to the future and see where my favourite characters have ended up and that they are still happy. I can't see the point in an epilogue so near in the future, it just doesn't do it for me. So when I started reading the epilogue of WD, I could not have been happier. It was perfect, beautiful and just so fitting for how this series would end. I am going to miss Travis and Abby but can find peace in the knowledge that I can reread for years to come! "Even though we'd put each other through hell, we'd found heaven. Maybe that was more than a couple of sinners deserved, but I wasn't going to complain."

Loved it. Better than I thought it would be.
10+++ Stars. (LOVED every single word!) Every story has two sides. Walking Disaster is Travis Maddox's POV of Beautiful Disaster. If you read Beautiful Disaster then you need to read Walking Disaster. Abby tells her side of their journey in Beautiful Disaster and now Travis gets to tell his side in Walking Disaster. If you haven't read Beautiful Disaster, then you need drop what you are currently reading and read it. Do not read Walking Disaster until read Beautiful Disaster first. Travis mom's last words to him before she died were LOVE HARD and FIGHT HARDER. Travis has never been in love before he met Abby. Abby does not want a relationship with a guy like Travis since she fears it will only be a life like she had back at home with her father. However, these two cannot help what they feel for one another; two very complex individuals trying to make it work. Abby may seem cruel and not understanding in certain scenes in Walking Disaster, but that is why it is important to read Beautiful Disaster first so you understand why she does what she does in Walking Disaster. When I first read Beautiful Disaster last summer, I loved it, but had so many questions about Travis' thoughts and feelings during certain scenes. My questions were of the night Travis brought the 2 girls home when Abby moved in with him for a month, the morning after Abby's last night in Travis apartment when he found Abby gone the next morning, and all that happened in Vegas. All those scenes were beautifully written and very intense even though I knew what was going to happen. One thing I always admired about Jamie McGuire writing Beautiful Disaster was that she did not just write a simple love story about Travis and Abby. She did such an amazing job by taking the readers through all their journeys which only an amazing writer can do. Jamie McGuire had a great imagination for a story and wrote it beautifully. When I got to 82% of Walking Disaster, I was getting a little depressed that this story was going to be over soon. I love and hate that feeling. Did I skim? NO. Loved every word. Did I feel connected to the characters? YES. Will I reread? Definitely. Pace of the story: Perfect. Positives: Travis's POV. I think if readers had problems with the way that Travis acted in Beautiful Disaster, they will understand his actions/behavior, which will only make you appreciate and love the story more. The prologue and the epilogue alone were phenomenal. Negatives: That the story of Travis and Abby ended. However, I am hopeful that there will be sequel's with the Maddox brothers! A plea to Jamie McGuire. Do I recommend? HIGHLY. There will be no regrets reading this series.

A lesser version of Beautiful Disaster - a lazy rehash
I was super excited for this book to come out, and if you had asked me prior to reading this what my minimum rating for it would be, I would say 4 stars, given how much I adored "Beautiful Disaster". I also love Jamie McGuire's writing style, so it pains me to say that this is a total rip off. I will give it 3 stars because the story is still touching and I still love Travis and Abby but this is the laziest book I have ever read. I made the mistake of rereading Beautiful Disaster prior to reading this and maybe that is the problem. It is literally the exact same dialogue and story but from Travis' POV...barely (I will explain more in a bit). From here on out, I am going to assume you have read Beautiful Disaster (and if you haven't, what is wrong with you?! Put down whatever you are reading now and read that book. It is one of my all time favorites). Walking Disaster is the exact same book, but worse. Do not waste your money! Even as I write this I know I probably could not have been persuaded against reading this one...but maybe I at least would have tried borrowing it or something. I initially thought jumping into this endeavor, that I would get more Travis...I mean, it is from his point of view and I assumed that meant we would get more of his thoughts. Well I was wrong. It is almost like Jamie went out of her way to not add anything that was not obvious from Beautiful Disaster. It was like she took the text from Beautiful Disaster, deleted the non dialogue parts, and then just wrote over with Travis' perspective...without adding any of Travis' actual thoughts. I wanted more of his relationship with his brothers and family. I wanted to know more about his fighting. I wanted to understand more of what he was thinking when he was dealing with Benny. We get a glimpse but it is easily missed if you are not looking for it. For example, when Travis tells Abby, "I turned Benny down. I called him Wednesday and told him no." How do we not see that actually happen? How do we not go through his realization that working for Benny would be bad or that it wasn't all about money for Abby? How do we not get to hear what Benny says when Travis turns him down? This is obviously not a pivotal point, but it illustrates how the whole book is constructed. In fact, not only did Jamie not add anything that we didn't already know, she made the characters far less likeable. From Abby's perspective, I understood Travis' motivations and thoughts almost better than in this book. How is that possible??? Without having previously loved Abby, I would have thought she was a total bitch from this. Her vulnerability does not come across at all, and she almost seems crazy. Granted, she does crazy things, but from Travis' perspective it does not seem appealing in the least. OK, so are there any reasons at all to read this book? Yes, 2. 1. The heartbreak Travis experiences after the trip to Vegas is far more palpable in Walking Disaster and really saves this book (and saved my kindle from being thrown across the room in annoyance). After Thanksgiving and after he drops Abby off at her place, Travis returns to his family devastated, "I collapsed to my knees, and my brothers surrounded me, placing their hands on my head and shoulders for support." I get a little choked up just thinking about it. This part is very well written, and again, is really the saving grace of this read in my eyes. 2. The Epilogue - This book has an epilogue with a ton of goodies. I am actually a hater of epilogues in general, not that I hate happily ever afters, because obviously that's not true, but I usually find them a bit cheesy and they ultimately dash my hopes for a sequel. Well this is the total opposite. We do get to see some of the future relationship of Abby and Travis, but all sorts of new plot lines are introduced. If these do not signal a sequel that will be pretty mean, but it was still a very well done ending. All in all, I am not exactly upset that I read this...I just wish it was so much more (I was pretty upset half way through but I am glad I stuck it out for the end). Jamie just didn't seem comfortable in Travis' head and refused to go as far as she needed to. Perhaps if I had not just reread Beautiful Disaster, I would have received this better, but I doubt it. HOWEVER, I still absolutely love Jamie McGuire and I really really REALLY hope the Epilogue is a glimpse of future stories! Posted on ReadAndBeMerry.com. Visit my site and see all my reviews!

The Autumn Review for Walking Disaster
Walking Disaster was one of my most anticipated reads of this year. Can you imagine why? If you said Travis Maddox, you would be correct! I could not wait to get into his head. The result: I fell in love with Travis even more! While Walking Disaster is the same story, it felt like I was reading it for the first time again. Getting to know Travis more and how he thinks, why he acts the way he does, and simply...his perception on he and Abby's relationship was enlightening. I felt like Travis came across almost in a more sensitive way. I mean, let's face it...Abby and Travis has a very dramatic relationship at times, but I think he's a pretty deep guy. He was really affected by the issues they had in their relationship. I think those readers out there that aren't Travis fans, *gasp* would be swayed after reading this book. Also, I loved reading more about his family and their relationships with each other. This is a family that has had to deal with major tragedy, but they pulled together. They rely on each other. My heart broke for Travis because, he was so young when his mom died. Being surrounded by men from such an early age, explains a lot about why he is the way he is. I really love the relationship he has with his dad. His dad has a talk with him near the end of the book that brought me to tears. Loved it. There were a few new twists and surprises in Walking Disaster. Obviously, I can't say what they are though. I will tell you this, I absolutely ADORED the ending and squeed as soon as I had finished! It was definitely a fantastic lead in to the Maddox Brothers Series. And while we know Abby and Travis have their happy ending, I think we will still get to see glimpses of them in the Maddox Brothers Series. YAY! Overall, Walking Disaster was everything I had hoped it would be. I can never get enough Travis! Not only did I love reading about one of my favorite book boyfriends, but I was happy to see Abby, Shep, and America again too. Whether you liked Beautiful Disaster or not, I can say with conviction that Walking Disaster is a book you won't want to miss! Quotes: ~Once she kissed me, my heart slowed, and every muscle in my body relaxed. How much I needed her terrified me. -pg 252/ARC ~Maybe it was just me. Maybe it was just me and her. Maybe together we were this volatile entity that would either implode or meld together.-pg 252/ARC ~I pulled her arms around me without apology, tight enough that it was difficult to expand my chest enough to fully inhale but for the first time all night, I felt like I could breathe.-pg 232/ARC ~Watching Abby own my brothers--hand after hand was turning me on. I'd never seen a woman so sexy in my life, and this one happened to be my girlfriend.-pg 257/ARC ~I was now in a situation where I didn't have to prove myself, because the one person that fully accepted me, my best friend, was now a permanent fixture in my life.-pg 420/ARC

OMG OMG OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
**A copy was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review** OMG!! WOW! Where do I begin? This novel was beyond amazing! I could not put this novel down! Walking Disaster is the second novel in the Beautiful series, and is in Travis Maddox’s POV. Many scenes feature just Travis/Travis and Shepley/or Travis and his brothers or dad[family]. And even the scenes with him and Abby are different again because you’re seeing and experiencing the story completely though his eyes. Jamie McGuire truly did a wonderful job of getting us right into Travis’ head. I loved how the author the novel started off, right at the beginning, when Travis was 3. The prologue really set up his character, it gives the reader the reasons behind what made him into the person we have come to know & love! The raw emotions were overwhelming, it really was heartbreaking, and I’m not going to lie, I cried a bit!! And for anyone who perceived Travis as arrogant, the jealous type and even a little over-the-top-crazy, I urge you to read this book, because your perspective of Travis will change. The novel gives the reader insights on Travis’ thoughts and feelings, which put logic and reason behind his all his actions. I enjoyed watching Travis trying to figure out Abby, she’s just sooo different from any girl he’s ever met, and it was interesting to see him fighting his feelings for everything that involved her from just talking to her to taking part in the ‘bet’. I found myself constantly smiling and chuckling over his thoughts. I just loved his bad boy logic. It was hilarious at times, and at other times really made my heart clench. You really get to see the complete “Travis” picture with this book – you see his hope, his pain, his anger, and his desperate love for and need for acceptance by this one girl who has completely taken over his heart. Travis is not perfect, he has many flaws, but I think that it is a huge part of why we all love him so much! There’s just something about an imperfect, flawed character trying so hard to be functional that just tugs each one of my heart strings. On one hand, yes, he undeniably has some temper issues but you see him go through a lot of growth over the course of the book, and at the same time, he’s also just a guy who just desperately, with all his heart, is truly, madly, deeply, head-over-heels in love with his girl and is trying his very best to be everything she deserves. I love how he thinks that he belongs only to her and how he feels that he can’t breathe unless he’s with Abby. There were many new scenes in the book; there was also a huge chunk in the middle that was extremely paralleled to the first novel. In an effort to not make this book to identical to Beautiful Disaster, much of the dialogue was cut and there were parts of the book where, despite my love for Travis and Abby, the story always didn’t convey that same epic feeling that the first novel did. But at the same time, it really worked for this story because otherwise, it would have been way too similar. This is why I feel this book is really a companion novel to Beautiful Disaster. It is definitely for the hard core fans of Travis and Abby, who already know their connection, are already in love with their characters, have experienced the story through Abby’s eyes and just want MORE. Because in that respect, it most certainly delivers! How rare a treat is it to get an entire “alternate POV” book? OMFG THE EPILOGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSHH!!!!!! I don’t want to say a SINGLE word about it because I don’t want to spoil it at all for anyone but I’ll just say that it takes place several years after where Beautiful Disaster left off and it had my heart RACING!!! I never saw that ending coming but OMFGG it was FREAKING PERFECT! I LOVED IT!! Freaking loved it!! The book is worth reading for the epilogue alone. It left Travis and Abby’s story off in SUCH a wonderful place and at the same time, left me wanting to know more about the stories of the rest of the swoony Maddox brothers. I HIGHLY recommend reading this novel, but only after you’ve read Beautiful Disaster. Walking Disaster truly is the other half to Beautiful Disaster and you come away with it knowing every side of Travis and Abby’s story. -Ana @SoManyBooksSoLittleTime

Walking Disaster is epic and every bit as immense as Beautiful Disaster
Ok, where to start.... ....love, love and gallons more love for Mr Maddox? Yeah, that sounds about right. Obviously, I'll have to start by profusely stating my love for BD. Forever ingrained in my epic books list, it's safe to assume I, along with everyone else, fell madly in love with Bad Ass Maddox. The prose and characters were beautiful and I loved every second of living in one very steamy apartment ;). I read tons of books and BD was the first book I read where I was enthralled, enraptured, shocked, amused and every other emotion under the sun, all in the very best ways possible. Each scene was essential to the plot, with no unnecessary babble to (unnecessarily) chunk it out, and not once did I find myself bored and wishing the plot would hurry itself up! It was perfectly written and now forever seared into my brain. That said, exactly the same stands for WD! I loved every second, and reading Travis' POV was both a new insight and beautiful retelling of BD. The male POV is handled brilliantly and the relationship between Shep and Travis written to perfection. It's a gift in itself to be given the opportunity to delve into the mind of the best loved and lusted Travis Maddox and I loved every millisecond. Fast paced, action packed and with plenty of steamy bits, it definitely deserves it's five stars. I have been known on the whole to read books from a female POV and for this reason WD is probably one of the first books I've ever read from a male POV, and some male POV it is! Never once did I feel let down or disappointed, regardless of the sky high expectations I had from BD. Contrary to some of the negative reviews I've read, I'd like to add some of my own points. Evidently everyone is entitled to their own opinion and diverse opinions and expectations are what make reading a book so enthralling, sometimes you love it, sometimes you hate it but ALL WAYS you'll remember it. And so, some negative points I've read... 1. Abby does not come across as 'worthy' in WD. I'd have to disagree. I must admit my own perception of Abby from BD was different from Travis' perception of her. Where I pictured a quietly guarded, witty and strong minded Abby, Travis saw a mysterious, guarded and altogether 'no crap' Abby. However, rather than be at odds with my expectations, such a different perception was warmly welcomed, the main characteristic of Abby I loved was her strong willed personality and this was only reinforced in WD. 2. There's not much new stuff. Well, it was all new to me, even the repeated scenes were from Travis' POV and with that comes, colourful words, colourful thoughts and a whole lot of colourful insight into our favourite BB's mind. Not to mention some new and very unexpected scenes, which will blow your mind! And even regardless of this, WD is essentially BD from Travis' POV - that's the whole point, right? I expected, and desperately anticipated, re-reading BD's scenes from his perspective and finally knowing the reasons and thoughts behind his actions! To me, a companion novel from an alternate POV, is 'supposed' to be the same time frame, if not with some flawless additions! So, overall - yes, everyone in the world should definitely read this book. The perfect companion to BD and second chance to re-read BD for the first time. I can't praise it enough and I think all that's left to say is.... Thank You Jamie! - thank you for BD and WD which have disastrously and beautifully walked all over my heart, up the stairs and onto my bookcase where they will stay on proud display to remind me to 'Love hard. Fight harder', and get myself a Harley ridin' bad ass of my own!
