## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sounds good to me
*by B***E on May 31, 2013*

I will tell you that though I love music and love good sound, I really don't have the time or energy to really listen to the minute details of sound between different devices. That said, if something sounds awful I would be aware of it. I have bought 5 AT cartridges in the last few months (I've gone on a vintage TT buying spree) three of them were the CN5625AL's and two of these. I bought these as an alternative to the AT3482P because the cartridge is identical but this one includes a mount for using it with a standard 1/2" mount as will as the P mount and priced essentially the same. I found this cart interesting because of the carbon fiber cantilever. I could see of an aluminum alloy cantilever could impose some resonance into the sound where a CF cantilever would likely eliminate any unwanted resonance. From some of the reviews I have read on the AT3482P these are great cartridges for P mounts and this particular one gives you the option of using it with a standard mount also, as I mentioned.I have not done any A/B testing of this cartridge compared to the CN5625AL so I really cannot say if there is any difference large or small. For the price though, I have a new cartridge with a new stylus that I know will not be damaging my new vinyl and also sounds very good to me.There is one issue I have run into with these. I have one installed in a tone arm that requires a P mount. That turntable happens to be a Technics linear tracking turntable and the cartridge works perfectly. I also mounted one up to a Technics SL-210 which uses a standard 1/2" mount head shell. The head shell is an American DJ head shell I ordered at the same time. When I loaded the arm with the head shell and cartridge and dropped the needle on the record I knew immediately I had an issue of some sort. What I found is that the bottom of the cartridge was touching the LP. It seems that the bottom of the cartridge is shaped such that there is a dip down behind the stylus and then back up. Looking at my setup it appears that adjusting the tone arm height will fix the problem. It is important to know though that the tone arm height is pretty critical with this cartridge because of its shape. If my tone arm is too low it is very slight, but the amount that it needs to be raised to fix the problem is also very small. If you need a cartridge for a p mount but want the flexibility to mount it into a standard head shell also, this is a very decent cartridge. If you only have 1/2" mounts unless you are after the carbon fiber cantilever your likely better off with one of the vast array of other AT carts. If you do use this with a 1/2" mount be sure to check for clearance between the cart and the record and adjust the tone arm height if needed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Sounding needle.

This was a hard to find size and luckily it’s sold here. The sound was clear and it’s well balanced.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Same cartridge as the (currently) MUCH more expensive AT3482P!
*by O***Z on June 11, 2019*

I needed a new P-mount cart/stylus for my vintage Technics DD Linear TT since it's apparently impossible to find a replacement stylus for the no-name cart that it had on it, and after doing a little research, I discovered that the AT3482P, which I have used with another table a few years ago, is the SAME as the AT3482H/U, only difference is that this one also comes with a standard mount adapter. As of this writing, the AT3482P is selling for close to $70 here on Amazon while this one is $30. Hmmm, you do the math...which would you choose?Anyway, confirmed that the AT3482H/U is indeed a P-mount, works great and I think this is a great cart and stylus. I actually prefer the conical over the elliptical stylus design. Plenty of treble for me on my system. I think I will next pick up a handful of replacement stylii for this as I am sure it's been discontinued like the cart has been. Get 'em while you can!
