YIRU UNI-T UT210 Series True RMS Digital Clamp Meter AC/DC Voltage Tester with ohm, Capacitance Measurement…

I do construction and automotive work. I have expensive Fluke meters in the construction trailer and in my toolbox in the garage. I wanted an inexpensive meter with an AC and DC amperage clamp to carry in my truck for those times when you need a volt ammeter and aren't near your tools. I was impressed with the compact size, it has weight (not a cheap plastic housing) and readings compare closely to my expensive Fluke meters. So far within a few days of its arrival I successfully diagnosed a vehicle charging system problem, located an overload problem in a home electrical box and located a faulty home electrical outlet. The last one was what I was most impressed with using this meter. As you may know, when an electrical outlet fails you can lose power at multiple outlets or lights as the circuits run in series. With typical no contact voltage detecting pens (like Fluke) you can detect power but need to touch the wire or stick the tip in an outlet (which is great in a lot of situations). This meter has a built in non contact voltage detector (in the tip of the amp clamp). I was able to scan through the walls from 8 inches away and detect live AC wires (outlet to outlet, outlet to switches and switches to lights). The closer you get to the live wire the faster the meter beeps. I detected power to one outlet and no power leaving it. I removed the outlet from the wall and it was one of the cheap ones that the bare wire just pushes in the back. It had arced causing a burned spot and no power to the exiting wire. This alone only took a few minutes which paid for the meter itself in time savings!

Good quality, the ammeter clamp works well, I took several measurements and there was no problem, it works perfectly. I like that it is a small but very strong tool, it can be used by an electrician in his daily work, I really bought it only for occasional work in my home, but as I say it can be used for the daily work of appliance technicians, in the home it is necessary to have a voltmeter and a current clamp, to be able to repair without risks to people and for things to be technically repaired. I will use it in my home and in the car, I am satisfied with this purchase

This low level clamp-on current meter has turned out to be amazingly useful for checking current flows which in the past I would not have measured because of the inconvenience of breaking circuits to measure the current. It sometimes does not want to zero itself and I have to turn it off and on again to make it work... a little exasperating, but totally outweighed by what it does when it works right (which is most of the time.) Worth the money!

I had to return a previous DMM because it did not seem to read current using the clamp, nor did it shut off automatically (its claim). It also reverted to a different function than you were using after a couple of minutes, very annoying. So far, I can say that this Uni-T UT210E does not suffer from these inadequacies. The first thing I noticed was the small size of the meter. When opening the box, I was thinking it wasn't coming with a carry case due to the small size, but it does. The meter is just about half the size I expected, but I prefer this because I often have to make away calls and this takes up such little space in my toolbox. I also like the fact that the probes plug into the end rather than on top of the meter. The auto-ranging scales will be useful to those not as much acquainted with the use of a DMM. If there is any gripe to be made about this meter, some might point out that it doesn't come with batteries. It requires two AAA, but a lot of included batteries are just cheap carbon batteries anyway and you should invest in some good alkaline batteries for a meter. The last thing you want are dead batteries leaking acid into your DMM. The default mode of the meter is reading AC. Since most of my work involves DC, that would have been my preference, but it's just one press of a button and, AC use probably being more common, this kind of makes sense. Again, I cannot deduct a star for this. [Edit] I originally thought the probe tips were too short. They emerge only about 1/8" from the plastic. I later discovered that there are removable plastic covers that you pull off to expose the rest of the probe tip. Wish this had been in the manual, but great! I hope this review is helpful to those in search for an affordable clamp meter. Every do-it-yourselfer should own a DMM.

Awesome product at an amazing low price. This is a fine meter. What a surprise when it turned up - this is a serious measuring device ，tiny and very accurate. Comes with probes that are insulated so only about 1/8" metal is exposed，because they come with the end shields that allow you to contact the test points without shorting out adjacent wires.Of course these plastic shields can be removed to allow the entire probe tips to be exposed for inserting into AC outlets, etc.. I did not have probes like this and they are useful for circuits as I do not have to worry about accidental shorting. The fact that it can read amperage without opening the circuit, makes troubleshooting very easy. This is a well designed feature packed meter. It has very intuitive controls and is very compact, so it is easy to store. It also comes with a nice carrying pouch. Even better, it has instructions in English to guide me how to use it.This has become my favorite multimeter. I use it on a nearly daily basis.

Very good in quality and price

I ordered the UT210B as it was described as an AC /DC clamp meter. It does not measure DC. I wish that more care was taken with product descriptions.
