Five stars for what it is
This is an excellent product for the price as long as you understand what you're getting and what it's for. As long as you're clear on that, it's either possibly the best five-dollar computer accessory you ever bought, or something you don't need at all. It's a cooler for use with fairly small notebook/netbook computers. It's a perfect fit for my 10" Asus, and with it I can use my netbook on a laptop tray (or other flat surface) for long periods of time without having it overheat. But as some other reviewers have found, it may not be large or strong enough to hold, say, a 17" laptop. It also probably won't travel well; it's fairly flimsy. But for what I use it for, it's exactly what I needed. I work from home as a software developer, and one of the machines I use regularly is the aforementioned 10" Asus. I perch it atop this handy cooler with the entire assembly on my laptop tray, and it does the job better than any five-dollar cooler could possibly be expected to do. It has three little fans that, so far, all work consistently, and they keep my netbook from overheating for at least 10-11 hours at a stretch -- and perhaps longer; I've just never had occasion to find out.You have to be a little careful about both placement and pressure; if you don't get your netbook properly centered, or if you push down on it too hard, you may hear a little buzzing noise indicating that your machine is hitting one or more of the fans. But that hasn't posed any problem for me.And you definitely won't want to use this cooler as a lap tray by itself; it needs something under it for support, whether a tray or a tabletop. If you want a self-contained lap tray with the cooler built in, this is your huckleberry: Gear Head Dual-Cool Netbook Cooling Stand - Black with Grey Accents (NBCS2200BLK) -- at least I've had an excellent experience with it and found it to be a great deal for the price. (I sometimes work in a different chair that isn't wide enough to accommodate my laptop tray.)So if you have a location or two in your house where you want to be able to use your netbook, you can put one of these coolers at each location where you have a tray, and put one of the others anywhere that a full-sized tray won't fit. The Gear Head is also a better choice for travelling. At the time of this writing, you can get one of each for a grand total of less than twenty bucks. In the world of computer accessories, that ain't too shabby.

100% Effective cooler pad.
Guys,I started facing issues with my 4 years old HP dual core laptop. I am into IT and connect my laptop to a large screen and work on it for several hours. Since 5 - 6 months my laptop started heating really bad and after almost 3 hours of non-stop use it started shutting down abruptly. The problem was heat and this product proved it could do magic. With this product review here are some tips to resolve this issue without opening the laptop or spending any $ on professional cleaning services. Do it at your own risk, though my laptop is running like a horse in a derby.- Purchase this product without any doubt- Purchase dust buster spray- Identify the heatsink outlets on your laptop.- Spray dust buster inside the outlet from all possible corners.- Keep this SANOXY pad on a solid stationary object/table and place your laptop on top of it and connect it.- That's it, you won't see your laptop heating the way it used to be. Smile and enjoy your work.About this product;Pros:- Made with thin plastic material. Though it's solid enough to hold the weight of any laptop. I am using 15" HP Pavilion dv series with extended battery.- 3 fans located at different positions.- Important: Does its job of keeping your laptop cool which can now run for several hours. My laptop since I purchased this product never shut down on its own.- The blue lights underneath are cool.- All this in price of peanuts as compared to those highly priced products. Cost effective, this is almost 5 to 6 times lesser than other expensive products.Cons:- This pad is too flexible and could bend easily. People looking for an option to place it on a lap should look for some another product. Fans are not protected with any cover as the back portion is open, so the fans will not work if you set this on your lap or if there is any obstruction. You get what you pay for, don't expect a Mercedes in a cost of Yaris though both serves the purpose. You can't expect more at this cost. I have no idea about its durability but so far no issues at all. If I found any issues I would definitely update my review. 100% recommended for stationary use (not on your lap).

3rd try for a good laptop cooler, best one of the 3
I bought the white belkin one first and it was small and the cord and fan broke in under 6 months. Next I bought the "cooler master" which was almost 30.00, and the two fans or the cord or something stopped working after 3 months! At this point I thought what the heck, I tried the more pricey options, let's try this. I love it. I have an Acer 5741 G that overheats like mad, (amongst other things that a new laptop should not be doing.) so it shuts down in under an hour of normal use now. Really bad. So I was forced to start using these cooling fans, which I have never had to use before with other laptops.I really like the cooler master sloped metal design, it is very well made and comfortable, but I still needed those fans. Now I just pop this new cheap set of fans on top of the cooler master that had the fans break, which worked out fine because they were detachable fans. This fits really well on my lap and desk and I actually quite like the lights too, and like many people mentioned, these fans are very quiet.By far the best set up I have tried. I am so pleased I am going to order another one for a back up. What I find interesting is I did not see one review in here of someone complaining that this broke on them. Where on all the other higher priced ones, people complained they broke. The only thing I really dislike on this is the usb port is a sharp piece of metal that has cut my arm twice already. The acer only has 2 usb side ports so you have to plug this in on the side. I don't know what they were thinking with this sharp edged port they left bare that sticks out quite far and is dangerous. I think I am going to have to wrap electrical tape around it so I stop cutting myself. Or I just stuck my tiny mouse dongle in there but it sticks out quite far.
