Absolutely not for the faint hearted!
Pros: It is an excellent 2-way remote start system. Excellent price for a great product. The remote's screen shows the battery level, door/vibration triggers, remote start status, and remaining run time on the remote start. Status led on the car is bright and visible. Siren is plenty loud. Remote's range is very good. Customer service response is quick. Cons: The instruction is not good. It is probably originally written in Chinese and dumped into Google Translate, very awkward wording for North American English. This is actually what made this unit difficult to install. It is definitely not for the average Joe. They did say professional installation highly recommended. Although customer service is very quick via email, you need to ask specific yes/no type of questions due to language barrier. When you ask any question that needs further explanation, the reply you get will be the awful English cut/pasted from the installation instruction - not very helpful. There is no description of the operation - like when remote start is activated, which wire turns on first and which wire next, etc., which makes installation/troubleshooting much harder. I had to use a DVM to figure out which wire does what. Although there are +/- signs in the diagram, it would be more clear if input/output labels are used in conjunction. Experience: I had certification in automotive electrical system for a number of years in the past. For this project I researched all sorts of electrical diagrams on the car I was installing on, just so I know where the wires are and how the car's starting system functions. Besides the automotive manual, I had about 1/4" thick of printouts on the car's electrical diagrams. I labeled all wires on the vehicle side as well as the wires on the remote start unit side, just so it is more clear. The wires that will not be used from the unit were labeled and zip-tied prior to installation to avoid confusion. Another reviewer, an experienced electrician, on the EasyGuard system also indicated the same on the awful instructions. This project lasted about 3 weeks, on and off, with many nights studying the electrical diagram. Note: "ON1" in the instruction is the Ignition On wire, and "ON2" is the accessory power wire. When I asked the customer service if "ON1" is accessory, and "ON2" the ignition, and they emailed "Yes." WRONG! This screwed up my installation. When you turn the key, the first stop is the accessory power, and you would think "ON1" is the accessory, but NO. This is where I think the instruction would be much more clear if they just use Ignition On and Accessory. I used a DVM to verify that "ON1" is the Ignition On, and "ON2" is the Accessory On. Also, normal convention for the wiring color is (wire color)/(stripe color) as in WH/GN, there is one place in instruction where BK/YE is reversed. This unit was installed on a vehicle with GM Passlock II, and existing DEI Viper remote start system. Final: I maintain that this is an excellent system, but it will be way too much for DIY'ers. It's worth it to just pay an installer so to avoid frustrations. Oh, for those of you out there, thinking about going to Best Buy or Car Toys for DEI car alarms (Viper, Python, Clifford, etc - just go to DEI to search all their brands), DON'T DO IT. DEI remoste start system is nice, going about $500 installed. HOWEVER, the installation by Best Buy was crappy - all wires and splices were just twisted on and taped, no soldering, no crimp connectors. Second, DEI's remotes are absolute junks and EXPENSIVE! Like $170 expensive. We had three vehicles with Viper systems installed. While the systems are functioning fine, even with the lousy wiring, we had to consistently replace the key fobs. If it's not the buttons quit working, it's the battery door keep breaking and falling off. DEI's fobs are about $50 if it is still in production. If it is not in production, then you will have to go on eBay, and they are literally $170 each, and you know THAT will not last that long either. Over the years I have spent over $500 just on DEI key fobs for my Viper systems. That is what triggered me looking into the EasyGuard system - $20 per key fob if you need to order new one, and there is even a silicone protective skin available (one came with the system). My project is complete, and the EasyGuard system is working really well. The remote certainly has more range than the old Viper. Despite the challenges, I couldn't be happier finally tossing the old DEI crap in the garbage. And I can claim to be an expert at this EasyGuard system after completing this installation.

Stay away don't go with fascinating remotes. Had it installed it from professional still took him forever to install it. And its installed but not working properly already reset it 5 times in 3 weeks still not working properly. Can't take it out myself otherwise i would have returned it. Don't ask for range i guess not even 15 meters i guess. Sometimes works sometimes won't. So please if you are looking for remote start look for something else.
