Gokyo Map (Everest Region) Map – May 12, 2016

This map does well showing routs from Lukla to Gokyo and beyond, but cuts off on the east just short of Everest Base Camp. Everest itself does not appear. This map does, however, show Gorak Shep and Kala Patthar.Also there is no detail map of Lukla or of Namche, both of which have a great many structures.A much better option, by the same publisher but with wider coverage, is the newer (2018) Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Three Passes Everest, called the "Goyo Tree Pass Map (NE517)" on Amazon, ISBN-10: 9993347949 . It does have very detailed maps of Lukla & Namche,and coveres EBC and east all the way to Island Peak.Perhaps the most outstanding map is the Khumbu Himal map, "Khumbu Himal Trekking-Karte 1 : 50 000 Nelles," ISBN-10: 3867803331, which shows all sides of Everest (most maps are blank for anything in Tibet, and half of Everest is in Tibet). Mapping is by the Institute of Cartography at the University of Dresden, Germany. However It begins at Namche, leaving out Lukla, and has no detail maps, so supplementing with another map might be useful (such as the Gokyo Three Passes).
