From the Sands of Dorne: A Feast of Ice & Fire Companion Cookbook Kindle Edition

This is easily my favorite cookbook in terms of leisure reading, if not actual recipes. Don't get me wrong; the recipes are great, but the presentation is phenomenal. I love how each recipe is prefaced by a quote from the books; between that and the photos, I feel like I'm making something special whenever I reach for this cookbook.This isn't an everyday cookbook in my kitchen. Some of the recipes call for ingredients that aren't easy to get or are allergens, but other recipes grace the table on every special occasion.If you want a special something for your coffee table or a gift for a D&D player, Game of Thrones fan, or food history buff, this is it.

I bought the first Game of Thrones cookbook and when this Dorne-based one came out, I bought it immediately. These aren't just cookbooks with the name 'Game of Thrones' slapped on them. People actually thought this through.There are some dishes that are mentioned on the show that are in this book, and some that sound like they could live in the world of Game of Thrones. Dorne has dishes of the very exotic varieties. Ingredients like an actual snake are required, but the book does provide two versions of dishes: a show version, and a modern version to cook. One is faithful to what characters would actually use as ingredients, and the modern version has ingredients you could easily get at a grocer.Most of what I've cooked so far has been exciting and new, and a treat to eat. I can't wait to make all of them! Recommended.

An old housemate of mine had this book when it first came out, and I drooled over it. I finally got my own copy recently, and I'm so happy. This book is gorgeous, well-written, easy to follow, and features great photographs and flavor text. I haven't made anything from it myself yet, but I know from eating the delicious recipes that my housemate cooked from it that this is GOOD FOOD. I especially recommend the black bread - it never lasted more than a few hours in our house.

Gorgeous! I always have big plans to make several of the dishes featured in this book- have tried a few during the holidays and they're great! The book is lovely, reads clearly and is easy to follow, photography is scrumptious and it's such a great idea! A treat for any GRRM fan! :)

I love this cook book. Any GOT can should own it. I have almost made all the reciepies and we have really enjoyed them. I make a meal ever Sunday night for GOT for my family and friends. Its been a real hit!

Not as good or developed as the first cookbook; but this supplement is interesting, if a bit brief.

Excellent book, but the ingredients can be a bit difficult (or expensive) to get.

Cool recipes. Good addition to the first book.
