What size gel cell battery will it hold?

It would easily hold a standard 12v field box battery. The compartment looks to be a little bigger than 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 6 1/4".

Has the manufacturer corrected the glue and “falling apart” issues (as of 5-5-19)?

I have not had any issues with this complaint. My box has always worked well.
