LamyBlack Rollerball Pen Ink Refill, ea. (LM63BK)

I'm using this in my Lamy Studio pen and have to say, this is NOT a good refill. I received the pen as a gift for Father's Day (less than a year ago) and loved it. But the refills are poor quality.First of all, they don't last long enough. I use the pen every day at work, but used to write with a Cross ballpoint and replaced those refills once a year, max. I just loaded in my 3rd Lamy M63 refill in 8 months.I've also noticed that they tend to lose quality gradually. Other refills I've used in the past will start to underperform for maybe a day, then run out completely. The Lamy M63 refills keeps hanging on while putting out a thin, uneven flow of ink for weeks. Unless you want to keep popping a new refill in every few weeks, this creates a really unpleasant writing experience. I really notice how badly the pen was writing right after I replace the refill. The ink flows out so thickly and beautifully; it makes me wish it wrote like this the whole time!I've read about a jumbo version of this refill that I am going to try next, as I don't really feel like buying any more M63 refills (unless Lamy makes some improvements), so hopefully that will work better. The bottom line is that, for a cutting edge pen company that makes beautiful writing instruments that are both elegant and fun, they did a pretty poor job on this refill.

I bought the refill because the ink in the pen when I bought the rollerball was skippy and I thought it was perhaps the refill. I don't like the refill either. I am a HUGE Lamy fountain pen lover. I probably have 5 and I use them all the time, variety of points and inks and always reliable and clean. The rollerball was a huge disappointment and I can't blame the refill since this is the second one. This one doesn't skip but it is blobby ink that can smear and just looks sloppy. Not recommended. Perhaps if there was a fine point, but as of when I bought this, there was only medium size.

Lamy Refills, No. LM63BK, work great, and the pricing was very reasonable. These refills make the pen write smoothly and effortlessly most of the time, and the experience is good. The ink is semi-permanent, and it looks good long afterwards. This refill does skip at times, but rarely. I cannot tell the date-code on these refills, but I am assuming that these are well within the current date-code limitation -- an important consideration when replacing ink cartridges. The Lamy Rollerball pen writing experience is very close to my Mont Blanc Le Grande Rollerball. Overall, I would highly recommend the Lamy refills!

The ink doesn't flow as well as the LAMY ink refills that I've had in the past. It is ok. thanks It is nice to have my beautiful LAMY pen writing again. I'll try another Refill when this one gives out. Sometimes it just has get the flow going. thank you!

Much touted LAMY pens, at the time, but now years later - hard to find refills. This one fit perfectly. Thank you for carrying them.

A lovely dark, dark black that rolls luxuriously smooth. However, it is prone to skipping.

It fits! My long mute Lamy pen has had its voice returned. Should have checked Amazon for this replacement years ago, but when the old tube one dried up, the pen was put away and it's location forgotten. An endorsement of unjunking...my old pen pal was found as I sifted through boxes of collected bits and pieces of years gone by. Plucked form obscurity and ready again to write words of wisdom...if I can find some.
